Beam Camp’s 2027 Strafford, New Hampshire, program is a residential summer camp with two session choices: four weeks, July 6–August 1, for campers ages 11 (or rising fifth graders) through 17, at a published full cost of $6,900; or two weeks, July 6–18, for ages 9–15, at $3,450. Beam Center’s official page says the 2027 camper application is open. Check the current program information and application before making plans, since dates, tuition and terms can change.
Beam Camp 2027 dates, ages, and cost
The two Strafford sessions begin on the same date but differ in length, age eligibility and published full tuition. The four-week eligibility wording is specifically “11 years old (OR rising 5th graders) to 17 years old”; the two-week session is for ages 9–15. Match a camper to the chosen session rather than applying one broad age range to both.

Beam Center describes Beam Camp as a specialized sleepaway program centered on project making, collaboration and hands-on learning. Campers and staff work together on a large-scale shared “Big Project.” Campers also choose hands-on “Domains,” make independent projects in Guild spaces, contribute to community care and have daily opportunities for swimming and active play.

The camp site covers 106 acres and includes Big and Little Willey Ponds, nine cabins, wood and metal workshops, a FabLab and a dining hall. Beam Center’s program page describes the program and campus.
How tuition assistance and payment work
Beam Center says its tiered tuition model takes household size, annual household income—including contributing adults who live outside the household—and household assets into account. Families can request a Tiered Tuition Form through the application. The published full cost is therefore a starting reference; families seeking an adjusted rate should use the camp’s stated process rather than assume a particular award.

- Registrations received after April 1, 2027 are due within 15 days and do not qualify for the full-payment discount.
- Beam Center lists a 2% discount for full payment made within 15 days of an admission offer, available until March 1, 2027.
- Credit-card transactions incur a 3.5% fee; Beam Center asks families to pay by check if possible.
Refunds depend on when a cancellation is made: at least three months before camp, the listed terms provide a full refund; on or after the three-month deadline, the deposit is forfeited and tuition is refunded minus incurred card fees; on or after two months before camp, neither tuition nor deposit is refunded. Because these terms affect a substantial payment, confirm the current cancellation policy directly with Beam Center before registering.

Yes. The 2027 program covered here is the residential sleepaway camp in Strafford, New Hampshire—not Beam Camp City, a separate day-camp program in New York City. Beam Center’s official Beam Camp page identifies the Strafford program and links to the camper application and director contact information.

How Beam Camp differs from Beam Camp City
Beam Camp City is a distinct Beam Center day-camp offer in Brooklyn and on Governors Island. Its 2027 dates are August 9–September 3, for ages 8–15, with packages from one to four weeks. The listed prices are for City day camp, not the Strafford sleepaway sessions.

Beam Center’s official page states that the 2027 camper application is open and provides access to the application and director contact information. Before committing, confirm the selected session’s eligibility, current tuition-assistance instructions, payment schedule and cancellation terms on the live page.
Beam Center reports that, as of 2026, Beam Camp had hosted more than 2,700 campers and provided more than 550 full and partial scholarships. These are figures reported by the organization. Beam Center’s about page gives its organizational context.

The 2027 project open call identifies Beam Camp in Strafford as the project site and says completion is planned for summer 2027, but also contains a conflicting reference to campers realizing the project “in July 2026.” That inconsistency does not change the published camp session dates; families for whom the Big Project’s exact timeline matters should ask Beam Center directly. The open call is aimed at project proposers, not camper applicants. Read the project open call.
