The figures describe the proposed project at its announced scale. “Up to” 200,000 vehicles is a capacity ceiling, not a promise that the plant will immediately build that volume. Which Audi SUVs will be made in Georgia?
Audi says the facility is intended to produce premium SUVs tailored to North American customers. It has not identified the individual SUV models, model years, powertrains or production allocations. Buyers and suppliers should therefore avoid treating any particular current or future Audi nameplate as assigned to the Peach County plant.
The SUV focus does establish a broad manufacturing direction. It points to a plant designed around premium sport-utility vehicles for the North American market, but the product mix, launch sequence and engineering specifications remain to be announced.

Why does Audi want local production in the United States?
Audi describes the United States as one of its most important premium markets and says local manufacturing is intended to support growth, competitiveness and a stronger North American production pillar. Volkswagen Group calls North America a key growth region and says local Audi production would support products made in the United States for the U.S. market.
Volkswagen Group CEO Oliver Blume said: “North America is an integral part of our Future Plan 2030.” Local production can give a manufacturer a closer base for serving regional demand, but the announcement does not quantify future sales, sourcing percentages, tax effects or delivery-cost changes.

Has Volkswagen approved the project?
Not finally, based on the qualification in Volkswagen Group’s announcement. The group states: “The decision to build a new Audi plant in the U.S. is still subject to approval by the relevant committees.” That condition is material: committee approval, final commercial terms and site-development decisions must precede a fully committed construction program.
