20 Art Deco Interior Ideas That Actually Work in Modern Homes

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Art Deco interior design works best when it is treated as architecture first and decoration second. The rooms that age well usually have one or two strong Deco moves: a geometric tile floor, paired globe sconces, a stepped fireplace surround, a lacquered vanity, or a dramatic mirror. The rooms that fail usually try to use every motif at once.

On our job sites, we build Art Deco rooms in layers: shape, surface, metal, then textile. That order keeps the budget clear and prevents the room from feeling themed. Start with symmetry, clean trim, good lighting, and one focal material. Then add brass, chrome, velvet, black-and-white contrast, jewel tones, or reeded glass where they support the room.

Below are 20 Art Deco interior design ideas with real 2026 cost ranges, buildability notes, and permit guidance for U.S. homeowners. Costs vary by market, access, material grade, prep, and whether you are working around older plaster, existing wiring, or pre-1978 lead paint.

Art Deco Design Priorities Before You Spend

Before buying tile, wallpaper, or lighting, decide what the room needs to do. A powder room can handle more drama than a kitchen. A living room can carry a large curved sofa, but a narrow entry may only need a mirror, runner, and upgraded fixture. Art Deco depends on crisp alignment, so the hidden work matters: flat walls, square tile layout, centered fixtures, straight trim, and well-supported electrical boxes.

DAOYIJIAJU 47"x22" Large Rectangle Decorative Mirror with Geometric Frame
  • Art Deco Geometric Frame Design - Designed with a layered geometric metal frame, this decorative wall mirror adds a clean Art Deco accent to modern, contemporary, glam, and transitional interiors. The open-line frame creates depth on the wall without looking bulky.
  • Clear HD Reflection Glass - The mirror is made with high-definition glass to provide a bright, clear reflection for daily grooming, outfit checks, and room styling. Ideal as a bathroom mirror, vanity mirror, bedroom mirror, hallway mirror, or living room accent mirror.
  • Sturdy Metal Frame - Built with a durable metal frame and a refined finish, this mirror delivers a structured, premium look. Choose black for a modern minimalist style or gold for a warmer luxury accent that pairs well with light, neutral, or dark wall colors.
  • Horizontal or Vertical Hanging - The rectangular sizes can be hung vertically or horizontally to fit different spaces, including bathroom vanities, entryways, bedrooms, dining rooms, dressing areas, and above console tables. Square sizes work well as centered wall décor or statement accent pieces.
  • Multiple Sizes for Different Rooms - This mirror offers flexible options for small walls, vanity areas, full-length styling, and large decorative spaces. A practical choice for home upgrades, housewarming gifts, and interior décor projects.

A practical order of operations looks like this: electrical rough-in first, wall repair second, trim and millwork third, tile or flooring fourth, paint and wallpaper fifth, then fixtures, hardware, mirrors, and furniture. If you reverse that order, you risk damaging finished surfaces or paying twice for touch-ups.

For color temperature, we usually specify dimmable 2700K to 3000K bulbs. That range makes brass, chrome, dark paint, velvet, and stone look rich without making the room feel yellow. In kitchens and baths, verify fixture ratings, GFCI/AFCI requirements, clearance around wet areas, and local permit rules before work starts.

Cost Snapshot for 20 Art Deco Interior Ideas

Use this table as a planning guide. A homeowner can create a Deco feel for under $1,000 in a small room with paint, hardware, a mirror, and one light fixture. Larger architectural upgrades can run from several thousand dollars to well into five figures, especially when electrical, tile, flooring, or custom millwork is involved.

1. Install a Geometric Wallpaper Accent Wall

Wallpaper is one of the fastest ways to bring in Art Deco pattern without remodeling the whole room. Look for fan, chevron, stepped, arch, diamond, or sunburst patterns. In a bedroom, place it behind the headboard. In a dining room, use it on the wall with the buffet or centered light fixture. In a powder room, use it above wainscot or tile so the lower wall can handle splashes.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Angi’s 2026 figures put wallpaper installation around $600 for a standard room, commonly $325 to $825, or about $3 to $8 per square foot including materials and labor. Removal averages about $793, with wall repairs often adding $150 to $1,000. Pattern repeat matters. A large geometric print wastes more material because installers must align the motif at seams.

DIY is reasonable for peel-and-stick paper on one smooth wall. Hire a pro for grasscloth, metallic paper, murals, stairwells, old plaster, or bathrooms. Deco wallpaper looks unforgiving when seams drift even 1/8 inch.

2. Use Black-and-White Tile or Marble-Look Porcelain

Black-and-white contrast is one of the clearest Art Deco signals. Checkerboard, basketweave, hex, and border tile all work. For a modern home, we prefer restraint: a black-and-white floor with simple white walls, or a marble-look porcelain wall with quiet flooring. Porcelain is often easier to maintain than real marble, especially in kitchens, baths, and entries.

Tile installation in 2026 commonly averages around $2,000, with many projects falling between $400 and $4,250+. Tile floors often run about $15 to $20 per square foot installed, though intricate layouts, leveling, demolition, and premium tile can push the price higher. A 40-square-foot powder room floor may land near $1,200 to $2,500 once prep, tile, setting materials, grout, and labor are included.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Ask your installer for a dry layout before setting tile. Deco tile depends on centered lines, balanced cuts, and clean borders. A beautiful pattern can look cheap if the doorway starts with a tiny sliver cut.

3. Swap in Brass or Chrome Hardware

Hardware is the easiest low-demolition Art Deco upgrade. Brass adds warmth; chrome feels sharper and is just as period-appropriate. Use knobs, pulls, hinges, door levers, towel bars, robe hooks, and switch plates as a coordinated layer, not a random mix of finishes.

For a kitchen, typical hardware projects often range from $150 to $900 depending on count and quality. Measure hole spacing before ordering pulls. Common center-to-center sizes include 3 inches, 3 3/4 inches, 5 inches, 6 5/16 inches, and 8 inches. Matching existing holes avoids patching and refinishing cabinet fronts.

DIY is usually fine. Use a cabinet hardware jig, painter’s tape, and a sharp bit. If doors are high-gloss, lacquered, or custom stained, drill carefully or hire a carpenter. A misplaced hole on a specialty finish can turn a $20 pull into a $500 repair.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

4. Hang a Sunburst or Geometric Mirror

A sunburst mirror gives a room immediate Deco character, but scale matters. Over a 60-inch vanity, a 30- to 42-inch wide mirror usually feels right. Over a console table, the mirror should generally be narrower than the furniture below it by 6 to 12 inches. In a small powder room, a bold mirror can replace the need for patterned wallpaper.

Expect to spend $100 to $800 for many ready-made mirrors, with custom or heavy pieces costing more. The installation detail is simple but critical: anchor into studs when possible, use rated wall anchors when not, and check the weight rating on both the hanger and the wall fastener. Heavy mirrors over vanities or bars should not be hung on small picture hooks.

5. Add Fluted or Reeded Glass Cabinet Doors

Reeded glass gives you Art Deco texture without loud pattern. It works well on upper kitchen cabinets, built-ins, bar cabinets, linen storage, and bathroom towers. It also hides clutter better than clear glass, which is useful in real homes.

Retrofitting cabinet doors with reeded glass can range from about $500 for a small pair of doors to $2,500 or more for multiple custom doors. Tempered glass is recommended where impact risk is higher. In bathrooms, use materials and finishes that tolerate humidity, and make sure cabinet ventilation is adequate if towels are stored inside.

This is usually a pro job unless you are replacing simple glass inserts in doors already designed for panels. Custom doors must be sized accurately, and glass needs proper retention so it does not rattle or crack with daily use.

6. Bring in Velvet Accent Chairs

Velvet is a classic Deco textile because it catches light and makes color feel deeper. Emerald, navy, rust, oxblood, gold, and charcoal all work. In a living room, pair two matching chairs across from a sofa to create symmetry. In a bedroom, use one chair only if there is enough walking clearance.

Budget $300 to $2,500 or more per chair. Performance velvet is worth considering for families because it resists staining better than delicate upholstery. Check seat depth and arm height before buying. A 22- to 24-inch seat depth is comfortable for many lounge chairs, but deep chairs can overwhelm smaller rooms.

7. Use a Curved Sofa or Scalloped Headboard

Art Deco mixes curves with angular geometry. A curved sofa softens a living room full of straight walls and rectangular openings. A scalloped or channel-tufted headboard gives a bedroom Deco shape without changing the architecture.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Curved sofas and upholstered headboards commonly range from $700 to $5,000+, depending on frame quality, fabric, and custom sizing. Measure delivery paths before ordering: stairs, turns, elevators, and door widths. We have seen homeowners choose the right sofa for the room and the wrong sofa for the hallway.

In bedrooms, keep nightstands simple if the headboard is dramatic. In living rooms, leave at least 30 to 36 inches for main walkways and roughly 16 to 18 inches between sofa and coffee table.

8. Install a Statement Chandelier or Globe Sconces

Lighting is where Art Deco can look expensive quickly. Milk-glass globes, tiered chandeliers, ribbed glass shades, polished chrome arms, and warm brass can all work. The key is support and proportion. Heavy chandeliers need properly rated boxes. Sconces should be centered and level, especially when flanking a mirror or fireplace.

Fixture installation commonly runs about $150 to $1,200 per fixture, depending on wiring, fixture weight, ceiling height, and access. Recessed lighting projects cost more when multiple cans, dimmers, attic access, patching, or new circuits are involved. Electrical permits are often required for new wiring, new boxes, new circuits, or substantial fixture relocation, though simple fixture swaps may be treated differently by local jurisdictions.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Use dimmers rated for the bulb type. In many current homes, AFCI and GFCI rules may affect kitchen, bath, laundry, basement, and outdoor-adjacent circuits. Do not guess on electrical code. Hire a licensed electrician when wiring changes are involved.

9. Choose Herringbone Wood Flooring

Herringbone flooring adds movement while staying refined. It is a strong choice for entries, dining rooms, studies, and primary bedrooms. For whole-home use, consider whether the pattern will fight with existing doorways and room transitions.

Installed costs often run $12 to $30+ per square foot depending on wood species, engineered versus solid flooring, subfloor prep, adhesive, finishing, and layout complexity. Herringbone requires more labor and waste than straight plank flooring. Plan for 10% to 15% waste, sometimes more in chopped-up rooms.

This is not a beginner DIY project. The first line controls the whole room. If the centerline is off, the pattern will advertise it at every wall and doorway.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

10. Build a Marble or Marble-Look Backsplash

A marble backsplash gives a kitchen or bar a polished Deco feel. Real marble is beautiful but porous, so it needs sealing and careful cleaning. Marble-look porcelain or quartz slabs can give a similar effect with less maintenance.

Kitchen backsplash projects often run from about $900 to $3,500+, with marble and slab materials pushing higher. Tile format affects labor. Small mosaics take time to align. Large-format slabs reduce grout lines but require accurate templating and experienced handling.

Kelly Miller 24"x36" Gold Foil Scalloped Edge Decorative Vanity Wall Mirror
  • GOLD FOIL FINISH. The mirror has a hand-applied gold foil finish. Its inherently textured detailing provides the mirror with unique character and charm. Whether you're using it as a wall art, vanity mirror or bathroom mirror, the large surface area allows it to brighten and expand any space it occupies. This mirror is also a perfect choice for your farmhouse makeover, fireplace mantle or bedroom furniture upgrade.
  • HIGH QUALITY. The mirror is comprised of a 12mm thick FSC-certified engineered wood inlaid with clean understated lines and a 4mm thick silver coated glass mirror. The solid and sturdy back board can support and protect the glass mirror, so it is difficult to break. Silver mirrors are characterized with clear, natural images and neutral reflection, which can stand out from many other mirror products even from a distance. Each piece of mirror in each section is bevelled and high-end.
  • UNTIQUE DESIGN. If your want some intricacies/interest to the pattern - not just a simple round or rectangle, this mirror will definitely be your perfect choice. Its sophisticated cutout corner accents along the inner and outer edges of the frame complete the look with added decorative detail. It will be a beautiful addition to any wall and an essential element in your home decor.
  • EASY TO HANG. French cleat is used to make the mirror very easy to hang on the wall. A strong and sturdy hanger cleat is already fixed on the mirror back. You just need to mount another aluminium hanger into the wall, and you can easily choose to hang your mirror vertically or horizontally. The package also includes 2 flathead wood screws with plastic anchors. It will take you no more than 10 minutes to finish the whole installation.
  • HAPPY WIFE HAPPY LIFE. This mirror is a great gift for family members. Suprise your wife with this beautiful atistic statement piece, and you will not regret for your choice! This mirror can also make a perfect gift for women friends on Birthdays, Christmas, housewarming and Mother's Day.

For a restrained Deco kitchen, combine a marble-look backsplash with ribbed glass, globe pendants, and simple brass or chrome pulls. Avoid making every cabinet door highly stylized. Kitchens need to age well and function daily.

11. Use a Lacquered Vanity or Bar Cabinet

Glossy lacquered finishes are strongly associated with Art Deco, but high-gloss surfaces show flaws. A lacquered powder room vanity, bar cabinet, or built-in can be enough. Deep green, black, oxblood, navy, or warm white all work.

Expect $500 to $4,000+ depending on whether you are repainting an existing piece, buying a factory-finished cabinet, or commissioning custom millwork. High-gloss paint requires excellent prep, sanding, priming, and dust control. In bathrooms, choose finishes that tolerate moisture and use a properly vented exhaust fan.

DIY is possible for a small furniture-style cabinet, but full lacquer-look cabinetry is usually better handled by a finisher. The surface quality is the design.

12. Add an Arched Doorway or Wall Niche

Arches bring the softer side of Art Deco into a modern home. A shallow niche in a dining room, hallway, or bath can hold shelves, a mirror, or accent tile. An arched opening can make a builder-grade doorway feel custom.

Costs commonly range from $1,500 to $6,000+ depending on framing, drywall, plaster, trim, electrical relocation, and whether the wall is load-bearing. Any structural change needs proper evaluation. If wiring, plumbing, HVAC, or bearing conditions are involved, the project becomes more than a cosmetic upgrade.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

This is usually a hire-a-pro project. The curve needs to be clean, and the surrounding wall must be finished well enough to hold grazing light without showing waves.

13. Install Picture-Frame Wall Molding

Picture-frame molding is one of the best ways to make Art Deco feel built in rather than pasted on. Use it in dining rooms, hallways, living rooms, stair walls, or bedrooms. Keep spacing consistent. Panels should relate to outlets, windows, doors, and furniture heights.

A typical room can range from $600 to $3,500 depending on wall size, trim profile, wall repair, caulking, and paint. Interior painting in 2026 averages about $1,100 for a single room, commonly $200 to $2,000, or $2 to $6 per square foot. High-contrast colors, trim painting, ceiling work, and wall repairs add cost.

If the home was built before 1978, assume lead-safe rules may apply when disturbing painted surfaces. Contractors working on affected homes must follow renovation, repair, and painting practices that control dust and protect occupants.

14. Turn a Powder Room into a Jewel-Tone Moment

Powder rooms are ideal for Art Deco because they are small, contained, and used briefly. Try emerald walls, black trim, a brass mirror, globe sconces, and a marble-look vanity top. Or use fan wallpaper above tile wainscot with a simple pedestal sink.

A light cosmetic powder room update can start around $1,000 to $3,000. Add tile, vanity replacement, electrical, plumbing, or premium wallpaper and the project can reach $5,000 to $8,000+. Keep one focal surface. In small baths, a patterned floor, patterned wallpaper, dramatic vanity, and ornate mirror all together can feel crowded.

Ventilation matters. Use bath-rated fixtures where required, moisture-suitable wallpaper, and durable paint. If you move plumbing or add electrical boxes, expect permit requirements in many jurisdictions.

15. Add a Geometric Stair Runner

A stair runner can bring Deco pattern into the house without touching walls or floors permanently. Look for bordered wool, low-pile geometric patterns, Greek key edges, or subtle chevrons. Avoid thick plush on stairs because it can reduce tread definition.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Installed stair runners often range from $1,000 to $4,000+ depending on stair count, turns, landing size, carpet quality, pad, binding, and rod details. For safety, installation quality matters more than pattern. The runner must be tight, centered, and secured correctly.

DAOYIJIAJU 42"x16" Rectangle Decorative Mirror with Gold Geometric Frame

Measure tread depth, riser height, stair width, and landing dimensions before ordering. In busy homes, wool or wool-blend carpet usually performs better than delicate decorative fabric.

16. Use a Decorative Ceiling Medallion

A ceiling medallion can make a chandelier feel intentional and period-inspired. It works best in dining rooms, bedrooms, entries, and powder rooms. Choose a medallion diameter that relates to the fixture and room. A 16- to 24-inch medallion works for many bedrooms and small dining rooms; larger rooms may need 28 inches or more.

Installed costs often range from $150 to $900, depending on medallion material, ceiling condition, painting, and whether the light fixture is being changed. If the medallion is paired with a new chandelier or relocated box, bring in an electrician.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Check ceiling height. In an 8-foot room, a flush or semi-flush fixture often works better than a long chandelier. Leave about 30 to 36 inches between a dining tabletop and the bottom of the fixture.

17. Build a Mirrored Bar Wall

Mirrors, glass shelves, dark cabinetry, and metal trim create a strong Deco bar without needing a large footprint. A mirrored bar wall works in dining rooms, finished basements, lounges, and butler’s pantry areas. Use antique mirror if you want softness; use clear mirror if you want brightness.

Costs commonly range from $1,500 to $7,500+ depending on cabinet work, mirror size, outlet placement, lighting, shelving, and countertop material. If you add an undercounter beverage fridge or ice maker, plan electrical and ventilation carefully.

Tempered or safety-backed mirror is worth discussing, especially near counters and seating. For wet bars, plumbing changes and electrical additions often require permits.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

18. Use Fan-Pattern Bathroom Tile

Fan tile is one of the most recognizable Art Deco bathroom materials. It works on a powder room floor, shower accent wall, vanity backsplash, or niche. In a small bathroom, choose one fan-tile location and keep the rest simple.

Bathroom tile projects can range from $1,500 for a small dry-area upgrade to $8,000+ for shower walls, floors, waterproofing, demolition, and premium tile. Wet areas need proper substrate, waterproofing membranes, slope, movement joints, and compatible grout.

Do not DIY a shower just because the tile is small. The waterproofing behind the tile matters more than the tile itself. A bathroom can look finished on day one and fail inside the wall by year three if the assembly is wrong.

19. Create a Stepped Fireplace Surround

Stepped forms are classic Deco. Around a fireplace, that can mean layered stone, tile bands, a strong mantel profile, or a symmetrical surround with vertical emphasis. Materials include marble, porcelain slab, cast stone, plaster, painted wood outside clearance zones, and metal trim.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Fireplace surround projects often range from $2,500 to $12,000+ depending on demolition, substrate, tile or stone, mantel design, hearth work, and code requirements. Combustible clearances are not optional. The fireplace type, listing, local code, and manufacturer instructions control what can go where.

Hire a pro for this one. Fireplaces combine finish carpentry, masonry or tile, heat, clearances, and sometimes gas or electrical work. A good surround should look centered, grounded, and compliant.

20. Mix Metals with Warm Dimmers

Modern Art Deco does not require every metal to match. Brass and chrome can work together if each has a job. For example, use chrome plumbing fixtures in a bath, brass sconces at the mirror, and black cabinet hardware. The room feels collected instead of showroom-matched.

Lighting and dimmer updates commonly range from $250 to $2,500+ depending on fixture count, existing wiring, switch locations, and electrical panel conditions. Use dimmers compatible with LED bulbs and verify load ratings. Buzzing, flickering, or poor low-end dimming usually means the dimmer and bulb are not a good match.

Warm dimming is especially valuable in Deco rooms because high contrast and polished surfaces can feel harsh under cool light. We typically avoid cool 4000K lighting in living areas, bedrooms, and powder rooms unless there is a specific task requirement.

When to DIY vs. When to Hire a Pro

DIY makes sense for surface-level changes where mistakes are reversible: cabinet hardware, freestanding furniture, simple mirrors, peel-and-stick wallpaper, paint touch-ups, lamps, and decor. Even then, measure carefully. Art Deco relies on symmetry, so off-center work stands out quickly.

Hire a pro when the project involves electrical wiring, heavy fixtures, tile in wet areas, structural openings, fireplace surrounds, custom glass, stair runners, high-gloss finishes, or lead-safe work in pre-1978 homes. Also hire out wallpaper if the paper is expensive, metallic, grasscloth, mural-style, or installed in a room with many corners.

Interior design help can also be worth it when the scope crosses rooms. 2026 cost data puts many interior designers and decorators around a $6,000 average, with traditional design services often ranging from $2,000 to $15,000 excluding furniture. Hourly design fees commonly run about $75 to $500+, per-room flat fees can run $2,000 to $12,000+, and whole-home flat fees can range from $20,000 to $150,000+. Percentage-based design fees are often 10% to 25% of the project. The right level depends on whether you need a color consult, furniture sourcing, construction drawings, procurement, or full remodel coordination.

Safety, Permits, and Code Notes Homeowners Should Not Skip

Electrical work is the main permit trigger in many Art Deco upgrades. New sconces, relocated fixtures, added dimmers, recessed lighting, bar outlets, and bathroom electrical changes may require a permit and licensed electrician. Local rules vary, so confirm before opening walls.

Bathrooms and kitchens need extra care. Wet areas may require GFCI protection, bath-rated fixtures, proper ventilation, and moisture-suitable materials. Tile showers need waterproofing, not just cement board. Stone surfaces may require sealing. Polished marble can etch from cleaners, cosmetics, wine, citrus, and hard water.

If your home was built before 1978, renovation work that disturbs painted surfaces may fall under lead-safe requirements. That includes sanding trim, cutting walls, replacing windows, or removing old painted components. Dust control, containment, and certified practices protect the household and the crew.

Window treatments deserve a safety check too. For homes with children, cordless shades under drapery panels give you the softness of Deco fabric while aligning with current window-covering safety expectations. Avoid accessible operating cords in bedrooms, nurseries, playrooms, and family spaces.

How to Keep Art Deco from Feeling Overdone

The best modern Art Deco rooms are selective. Choose one architectural move, one pattern, one metal direction, and one rich texture. For example: picture-frame molding, emerald paint, brass sconces, and a velvet chair. Or: marble-look backsplash, reeded glass, chrome hardware, and globe pendants. That is enough.

Do not put fan tile, chevron wallpaper, sunburst mirrors, scalloped furniture, brass everywhere, black trim, and velvet all in the same room unless you are intentionally creating a highly theatrical space. Most homes need some quiet surfaces so the special pieces can breathe.

Before buying, measure the room, mark fixture centers with painter’s tape, check clearances, and price the prep. Straight trim, smooth walls, aligned tile, and clean paint lines are what make Art Deco look polished. The style is bold, but the construction has to be disciplined.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the easiest way to add Art Deco style to a modern home?

Start with symmetry, lighting, and one pattern. Paired sconces, a sunburst mirror, brass or chrome hardware, and a geometric wallpaper wall can change a room without major demolition.

How much does an Art Deco room update cost in 2026?

A light cosmetic update can be under $1,000 if you use paint, hardware, and a mirror. A more complete room with wallpaper, lighting, trim, tile, or custom cabinetry commonly runs $3,000 to $15,000+.

Is Art Deco good for small bathrooms?

Yes, especially powder rooms. Use one focal element, such as fan tile, jewel-tone paint, a brass mirror, or geometric wallpaper above wainscot. Too many patterns can make a small bath feel crowded.

Do I need a permit for Art Deco interior upgrades?

Cosmetic changes usually do not need a permit. New wiring, relocated fixtures, added outlets, plumbing moves, structural openings, and some fireplace work often do. Local requirements vary by city and county.

Which Art Deco materials are easiest to maintain?

Porcelain marble-look tile, chrome hardware, performance velvet, reeded glass, washable paint, and quartz or porcelain slab surfaces are usually easier to maintain than real marble, delicate velvet, or high-gloss lacquer.
