The Anycubic Photon M3 Premium is a large-format MSLA resin printer with a manufacturer-rated 10.1-inch 8K monochrome screen, 28.5 μm XY resolution and 250 × 123 × 219 mm build dimensions. Those specifications make it worth considering for detailed resin parts and larger batches, but they do not guarantee a particular print quality or speed. Its four-point manual leveling and uncertain current availability of model-specific replacement screens matter just as much when assessing an older machine.
What the Photon M3 Premium is—and what its specifications mean
The Photon M3 Premium uses masked stereolithography (MSLA): a screen masks light so it cures selected areas of liquid photopolymer resin layer by layer. Unlike a filament printer, it needs liquid resin and a post-print wash and cure workflow. Anycubic positions this model as an 8K resin printer; its figures below are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.
| Specification | Anycubic listing | What to make of it |
|---|---|---|
| Exposure screen | 10.1-inch monochrome LCD, 7680 × 4320 pixels | “8K” describes the screen resolution. It is not, by itself, a guarantee of successful prints or visible detail. |
| XY resolution | 28.5 μm | A nominal pixel-size specification; print results also depend on resin, exposure, model orientation and setup. |
| Print dimensions and volume | 250 × 123 × 219 mm; 6.7 L | A substantial resin-printing envelope, useful when the model layout fits the platform and height limits. |
| Leveling | Four-point manual | Leveling is a hands-on setup task; the listing does not specify automatic leveling. |
| Rated print speed | Up to 95 mm/hour | This is a maximum manufacturer rating, not a guaranteed rate across resins and settings. |
| Data input | USB Type-A 2.0 and Wi-Fi | The listing names both input options, but does not establish that every workflow operation is wireless. |
| Rated power and weight | 150 W; 19 kg | Manufacturer-listed figures. |
There is a dimensional inconsistency on Anycubic’s specifications page: its explicit “Printing Dimensions” field gives 250 × 123 × 219 mm, while a comparison passage renders the dimensions differently. Use the explicit field as the listed build envelope, and confirm the usable dimensions with the seller if they are critical to a project. Anycubic’s Photon M3 Premium product listing provides the manufacturer’s specifications.
How to assess print quality and capacity
Resolution is one input, not a print-quality verdict
The 28.5 μm XY figure describes nominal pixel size across the screen plane. It does not tell you how clean a particular part will print: resin choice, exposure calibration, layer height, orientation, supports, temperature and machine condition all affect results. Treat “8K” as a screen specification rather than a promise that every small feature will reproduce faithfully.

Build volume favors larger layouts, with setup trade-offs
The listed 6.7 L capacity and 250 × 123 × 219 mm dimensions allow larger parts or more parts per run than a compact resin-printing envelope would. The practical limit is the model’s footprint and height after orientation and supports are added; nominal volume does not mean a single object can use every millimeter efficiently.
Rated speed should not be read as a job-time estimate
Anycubic lists a speed of up to 95 mm/hour. Actual job time depends on print settings and resin, so use the rating as a ceiling from the manufacturer, not as a planning guarantee.

Resin profiles and slicer workflow
Anycubic publishes Photon M3 Premium profile entries for several resin families, including standard, plant-based, DLP craftsman, tough, water-washable, clear, ABS-like and high-speed resins. The profile page is a useful starting point, but settings should be calibrated for the specific resin formulation and revision, layer height, temperature and printer condition. Do not assume that exposure values transfer unchanged between brands or resin types. See Anycubic’s resin settings page for the current model-specific table.
Anycubic identifies Photon Workshop as a free resin slicer and has a Photon M3 Premium section on its firmware and software page. That listing does not establish every current software feature or workflow option, so check the latest support information for your operating system and printer firmware before choosing a workflow.

Leveling, consumables and routine maintenance
The printer’s four-point manual leveling means initial setup and occasional re-leveling are not hands-off. Like other resin machines, it also depends on consumables and careful resin handling. Release film is a routine maintenance item: Anycubic’s Photon M3 Premium accessory collection lists “Release Film for Photon Series.” That category alone does not confirm that every third-party film fits this exact model. Before ordering, verify the product’s stated model compatibility and dimensions.
Plan for the full resin workflow, not just the printer: resin must be handled and post-processed according to its manufacturer’s instructions. Anycubic’s accessory collection also lists an AirPure accessory, but the listing does not establish that it replaces appropriate ventilation or safe handling practices.
