Its value depends on your room size, desired air-change rate and ability to obtain replacement filters. iRobot’s detail page currently says the unit is not available for purchase, so confirm live stock before treating it as a practical buy.
What the aair Lite filters
According to iRobot’s product page, the aair Lite uses a washable pre-filter followed by an H13 main HEPA filter. iRobot states that the system traps 99.95% of particles down to 0.1 microns. The accompanying footnote identifies an ISO 29463 measurement at 0.1 microns and above, using fan speed three of five. That is a manufacturer specification, not an independent test of every unit or operating condition.
The purifier uses mechanical filtration. iRobot says this design releases no ozone as a by-product; that is a product-design claim rather than evidence of a particular health outcome.
CADR and realistic room coverage
The most useful capacity numbers are the manufacturer’s clean-air delivery rates (CADR):

Those figures come from iRobot’s current US product page. The same page gives room-area estimates assuming an eight-foot ceiling:

Use the smaller area when you want quicker pollutant removal. A 1,700-square-foot claim at one ACH should not be read as equivalent performance in a 425-square-foot room at four ACH: the air-change assumptions are different. Open-plan layouts, high ceilings, closed doors and pollution entering from outdoors can all reduce practical performance relative to a simple area estimate.

Controls, sensors and everyday operation
Automatic and manual fan control
The product page describes five fan speeds and a smart mode that adjusts operation automatically. Night mode is also listed for quieter, darker operation, although no current independent noise test was established for this review.
Particle monitoring and app features
An onboard PM2.5 monitor is intended to show fine-particle conditions. iRobot lists app controls for power and fan speed, indoor and outdoor air-quality indexes, historical data and smart-mode operation. Current app compatibility and software support were not independently verified, so check the live app listing and setup requirements before buying on the strength of connected features.

Airflow and exterior
iRobot describes a 360-degree air inlet and a V-shaped outlet. The cover is washable fabric. These are design details from the manufacturer; they do not by themselves establish a particular cleaning rate in your room.

The Westlab sheet also gives an example capacity of about 35.02 m² at four ACH with a 2.4 m ceiling. Because that document is older and market-specific, do not merge its capacity or noise figures with the current US ratings as though they were one test set.

Filter replacement and ownership cost
iRobot says the filters last an average of 10 months. Actual life depends on dust loading, smoke, pets and operating hours, so treat 10 months as a planning average rather than a guarantee. The available manual mirror describes opening the unit and replacing both the pre-filter and main filter.
Homes & Gardens reported a $99 replacement-filter price in a review published about four years before this article. That is a historical figure, not a current quote. Check the manufacturer’s listing for today’s price and confirm that any third-party listing explicitly fits the aair Lite before ordering. A nominally inexpensive purifier can become poor value if compatible filters are hard to find or cost more than expected.

Can you still buy the Aeris aair Lite?
Availability is unclear. The official detail page currently displays “Not Available for Purchase,” while the official category page still shows the aair Lite with a price range. Treat the category listing as a catalog indication, not proof of inventory. Check the live detail page, shipping destination and filter availability before committing to a new unit.
Who should consider it?
A reasonable fit
- You want a HEPA-based purifier with published smoke, dust and pollen CADR values.
- Your room is closer to the 425-square-foot, four-ACH figure than the headline 1,700-square-foot, one-ACH figure.
- You value PM2.5 monitoring, automatic mode and app-based history, and are willing to verify current software support.
- You can confirm a dependable source for replacement filters.
Reasons to pause
- You need a purifier you can definitely purchase new today.
- You require independently verified noise, energy or real-room performance measurements.
- You are budgeting around the old $99 filter price rather than a current quotation.
- Your room has a high ceiling or an open layout that makes the published ACH assumptions unsuitable.
Bottom line
On paper, the Aeris aair Lite gets the fundamentals right: a two-stage filter path, manufacturer-quoted H13 efficiency, useful CADR, automatic operation and particle monitoring. It is worth considering only after you match the four-ACH coverage to your room and verify two volatile details—current availability and replacement-filter cost. The specifications support a qualified recommendation, not a claim of independently tested superiority.
