What is the AC Future AI-THd?
The AI-THd is AC Future’s drivable model in its AI Transformer Home lineup. It combines a road-going vehicle with an expandable living space. It is distinct from the AI-THu, an expandable home unit, and the AI-THt, an expandable trailer. AC Future presented all three configurations at CES 2025; the AI-THd is the one designed to be driven rather than installed as a home unit or towed as a trailer. AC Future’s AI-THd product page describes it as a “drivable transformer home.”
How large does it get?
AC Future lists the AI-THd as expanding to around 400 square feet, with near-2x expansion on three sides. The company gives its length as 26 to 33 feet. These are the manufacturer’s specifications; the cited sources do not provide independent measurements or a detailed floor plan that would allow a like-for-like apartment comparison.
The company also says the cockpit can convert into a mobile office or secondary bedroom and that furniture is flexible and stowable. That suggests the layout is intended to serve more than one use, but the product page does not provide enough dimensions or a room-by-room plan to assess how the expanded space would work for a particular household.

What does “self-sustaining” mean here?
AC Future’s product description lists systems intended to reduce reliance on external utilities. It does not establish that the AI-THd can live indefinitely off-grid. The cited materials provide no measured energy yield, daily water output, runtime, or demonstrated duration away from hookups.
- Power: The company lists solar capacity above 5 kW and solar water heating, along with efficient climate control. It does not publish verified energy production, storage capacity, or operating-duration figures on the cited page.
- Water: Listed features include water recovery, atmospheric water generation, water recycling, and filtration. AC Future does not state a verified daily water output or how those systems perform in different conditions.
- Controls and connectivity: The company describes AI-assisted controls, predictive water and power management, monitoring, security, internet connectivity, and app integration. The available sources do not identify specific component brands or independently validate system performance.
In practical terms, treat “self-sufficient” as AC Future’s description of an intended system package, not proof that the home can meet every household’s energy and water needs without outside support.

How is it powered and configured for travel?
AC Future lists EV or diesel engine options. The cited information does not provide driving range, charging time, fuel economy, emissions figures, or confirmation that both options are currently available to order. Those details matter for anyone considering the AI-THd as a vehicle as well as a home, and should be confirmed directly before making plans around travel or utility needs.
Price and delivery: what is confirmed?
As of October 5, 2026, AC Future’s product page lists a starting price of $328,000. This is the company’s current listed starting figure, not a confirmed final price for a particular configuration. The page includes a reservation call to action, but current reservation terms and delivery dates are not established by the cited materials.

In a January 14, 2025 announcement, AC Future said initial deliveries were expected in Q4 2026. That was a forecast made at that time, not confirmation that deliveries have begun. The same release recorded a $500 priority reservation and a $100 standard reservation as of January 2025; those historical amounts should not be treated as current terms. What is known about its development?
The available history describes design and prototype work, not proof of series production. In December 2024, AC Future and Hydra Design Labs announced that Hydra had worked on the Ai-TH after its concept phase, including final design, engineering, fabrication, and a functional prototype planned for CES 2025. That announcement concerns the Ai-TH prototype; it should not be taken as confirmation that Hydra performed the same work on every current model. The announcement details the prototype collaboration.

Pininfarina’s CES 2025 post describes its collaboration with AC Future and says the AI-THd was the original drivable, self-sufficient transformer-home design it had completed for CES 2024.
