Start with a team garden flag
A garden flag is a compact way to add team color beside a walkway, flower bed, or entry. Official MLB Shop and NFL Shop categories list team garden flags. Before choosing one, confirm that the design is available for your team and that the flag’s size and attachment suit the holder or stand you plan to use.
Choose a display that suits the space
For a more visible statement: a larger flag or banner
A larger flag or banner can make team colors more prominent across a yard or patio. Flags Unlimited describes licensed flags spanning several leagues and college teams; its listings describe garden flags with a pole sleeve and say banners do not include poles. Those are details for that seller’s products, not universal specifications, so check the individual listing and account for any separate mounting hardware.
For a playful touch: garden ornaments
Garden gnomes, birdhouses, bird feeders, signs, and yard stakes offer alternatives to a traditional flag. Official MLB and NFL shop pages feature examples of these formats, but selection varies by team and listing. A birdhouse or feeder can also serve a practical purpose; check the listing for installation and care guidance before placing it outdoors.

For a porch or game-day setup: outdoor accents

Compare options before choosing
- Scale and visibility: Decide whether you want a small accent near a path or a larger focal point visible from the street or patio.
- Placement: Match the item to its location—lawn, garden bed, porch, or patio—and consider how it will be mounted or installed.
- Style and use: Choose between a classic flag, a playful ornament, or a practical outdoor accessory.
- Team and design availability: Confirm that the specific item is offered for your team; league-wide categories do not mean every team has every product.
- Listing details: Check dimensions, material, care, installation, weather-use guidance, and whether a pole or stand is included. Outdoor décor listings do not provide a consistent basis for comparing durability across products.
Check licensing and seller details
If authenticity matters to you, look at the product’s licensing claim and who is selling it. The NCAA licensee directory identifies licensees and product categories, including flags, banners, and yard accessories. A directory entry or an official league shop listing is useful context, but verify the particular product and seller rather than assuming every item in a category has the same licensing status.
