Sydney’s Atlassian Central is the 39-storey office tower described as the world’s tallest hybrid timber tower after it reached its full structural height in July 2026. Its height is reported as 182 to 182.6 metres—about 600 feet, not an exact 600-foot measurement. The project combines mass timber with steel and concrete rather than making the entire tower from timber.
What is the 600-foot tower?
It is Atlassian Central, an office tower in Sydney. Dexus reported on 23 July 2026 that the structure had topped out above 180 metres, meaning it had reached its full structural height. WIEHAG lists the tower at 182 metres, while the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) lists it at 182.6 metres, or 599 feet. The headline figure of 600 feet is a rounded description.
Dexus’s July 2026 project update describes the topping-out milestone. The height figures are listed on WIEHAG’s project page and the CTBUH Tall Timber Center database.
How does its hybrid timber design work?
Atlassian Central pairs mass timber with steel and concrete. WIEHAG describes a steel exoskeleton and glass façade enclosing seven stacked timber “habitats,” linked by landscaped terraces. Natural ventilation is also part of the project’s workplace design. These features do not mean that every floor or structural element is timber; the tower’s defining approach is a combination of materials.

- Extremely portable at only 38.1 lbs.
- Razor sharp chain for clean, accurate cutting
- Cuts lap joints up to 5-1/8""
- Innovative power tool notches or cuts through-holes in thick wood stock quickly, neatly and accurately
WIEHAG reports that the design reduces embodied-carbon emissions by approximately 50 per cent compared with conventional construction methods. That is a supplier-reported comparison. The project-page information does not state the underlying life-cycle assessment assumptions or establish independent verification, so the figure should be understood as a claim about this project, not a universal result for timber towers.
What does “world’s tallest” mean in this case?
Dexus calls Atlassian Central the world’s tallest hybrid timber tower now that it has topped out. That claim depends on the category and project status being compared. CTBUH lists C6 Perth at 183.5 metres (602 feet) and Atlassian Central at 182.6 metres (599 feet) in its tall-timber database. The database height for C6 is greater, while an American Society of Civil Engineers account from 2023 described C6 as an approved proposal. These sources do not establish a single, directly comparable ranking across measurement standards and project-status cutoffs.

- This set of massive timer framing chisels are useful for large timber framing work when working on very deep mortises, where blade strength is required
- 3 piece set contains the following sizes: 1", 1-1/2" and 2"
- Comes with a 9 inch Ash handle and 10-1/2 inch blade. Overall length is 19-/2 inches.
- Forged from special Sheffield steel to ensure a perfect balance of toughness, edge retention and sharpness
- Come fitted with protective leather tip guard.
For a fair comparison, identify whether a building is proposed, under construction, topped out or complete; use the same height-measurement standard; and specify which combinations of timber, steel and concrete count as “hybrid timber.” The CTBUH database provides one taxonomy, while owners may use a broader project-specific description.
A separate CTBUH-listed project, the Hunter Pitt Hybrid Timber Tower, is a 53-storey competition proposal at 212.3 metres (697 feet). It is not the topped-out Sydney tower. See the CTBUH entry for Hunter Pitt. For C6’s earlier proposal status, see the ASCE account published 29 November 2023.

When is Atlassian Central expected to be completed?
The available project sources give different dates. Dexus targeted practical completion for the end of 2026, while WIEHAG lists completion in 2027. Practical completion and a supplier’s project-page completion listing are not necessarily the same milestone, and the sources do not reconcile the difference. Topping out in July 2026 confirms the reported structural-height milestone, not that the building was already complete.
