What types of mattresses does IKEA sell?
IKEA’s US buying guide groups its mattresses into spring, foam and hybrid categories. Its descriptions are useful for narrowing the options, but they are retailer guidance—not independent performance tests.
- Spring: IKEA says coils provide support and that spring mattresses feel cooler and drier to the touch than foam.
- Foam: IKEA describes foam and memory foam mattresses as coil-free, with materials that distribute body weight.
- Hybrid: IKEA describes hybrids as combining spring support with foam comfort and pressure relief.

Which IKEA mattress is worth buying?
There is no evidence here to call one IKEA mattress the best choice for everyone or the best value compared with other brands. The practical choice is the model whose feel suits you, fits your bed and makes sense at its current price. Two catalog examples illustrate the difference between constructions:

The captured prices differ by $250, but that gap alone does not show that one mattress offers better value. Compare the same size and check local pricing, stock, firmness options and the specifications of the exact model. IKEA’s ÅNNELAND product page lists the manufacturer’s specifications; they are not independent findings about comfort or durability.
How to choose for your sleep and your bed
Start with the feel you prefer
IKEA recommends considering firmness and sleep position, but the available product information does not establish a rule that every side sleeper, back sleeper or other sleeper should choose a particular model. Treat labels such as “firm” and “medium firm” as descriptions to investigate, not as a universal comfort scale. If possible, try the mattress in store and check the firmness label for the specific model and size.

IKEA US says a mattress may be exchanged once within 90 days, subject to condition requirements. Its policy excludes bases, slats and toppers from this mattress exchange offer. IKEA recommends allowing at least a month to adjust: “You should allow at least one month for your body to get used to the mattress and for the mattress to get used to your body.” Check the current mattress exchange policy for conditions and logistics before purchasing.
IKEA advertises a 10-year limited mattress warranty. That is not a 10-year comfort guarantee; consult the warranty terms for coverage and exclusions. The IKEA US catalog and the ÅNNELAND product page state the limited-warranty period.
