What happened on Shark Tank?
Co-founders Kweku Larbi and Ross Smith appeared on Season 12, Episode 11, which aired January 22, 2021. They sought $1 million in exchange for 10% equity and did not get an investment. Shark Tank Companies reports that Brümachen cited $42,000 in sales during the pitch; that is a reported pitch figure, not independently audited revenue. Why did some backers have trouble receiving their orders?
A January 7, 2021 Kickstarter update, reproduced in later SlashGear reporting, said the company lacked enough money to complete all shipping. Co-founder Kweku Larbi wrote: “Due to unexpected costs of shipping for such small quantities, we have been out of funds and apologize for the inconvenience.” The reported update asked U.S. backers still waiting for a machine to contact the company and said international orders would have to wait until more funds were raised.
