The WORX GT 2.0 20V MaxLithium trimmer-edger is a 12-inch cordless string trimmer that converts to an in-line edger and can be set up for mini-mowing. The model WORX documents under this name is the WG160.3, and WORX labels it discontinued, so it is mainly relevant today to owners who need line, spools, batteries, or guidance for a unit they already have. This review sets out what WORX documents for the WG160.3, which parts of that documentation still matter for maintenance, and where the record stops. It is based only on manufacturer product pages and a manual, not on hands-on testing or independent performance measurements.
Which GT 2.0 model this review covers
WORX’s product page titled “20V GT 2.0 String Trimmer, Edger & Mini-Mower” is the WG160.3 listing, and it carries a discontinued label. Treat every figure below as the specification WORX published for that listing, not as current stock information.
- WG160.3 (discontinued): the 20V GT 2.0 String Trimmer, Edger & Mini-Mower, with the specifications listed in the table below. Source: WORX, 20V GT 2.0 String Trimmer, Edger & Mini-Mower.
- Tool-only listing: WORX also publishes a “20V GT 2.0 String Trimmer & Edger (Tool Only)” page under the WG160 path. A tool-only listing does not include batteries or a charger, so confirm which listing matches the box you have or are considering. Source: WORX, 20V GT 2.0 String Trimmer & Edger (Tool Only).
- WG163 family: WORX’s later GT 3.0 and WG163-series products are separate models. The WG163M manual covers WG163-family variants and is not the WG160.3 page. Do not assume the two share batteries, chargers, or weight. Source: WORX WG163M 2 in 1 Cordless Trimmer/Edger Manual.
Specifications as published
The table separates the WG160.3 product page from the WG163M manual, because the manual describes a different family and should not be used to fill gaps in the WG160.3 figures. WORX’s pages do not state publication dates.

Features and how the head is set up
WORX lists the WG160.3 as a three-in-one tool: string trimmer, edger, and mini-mower. Its listed features include dual-position wheels, conversion to an in-line edger, and automatic single-line feed. The automatic feed advances line as needed, which means the line you use matters, as covered in the cutting line section below.
Converting between trimming and edging
WORX describes conversion between trimming and edging and provides conversion instructions on the product page. This review does not reproduce those steps, because the product page’s exact sequence is the authoritative version. Before you start, check these points:

Cutting line and automatic feed
Line size
WORX states that the GT 2.0 accepts standard 0.065-inch cutting line. That is the line size to match when you buy replacement line.
Other line
WORX warns that automatic feed is not guaranteed to work properly with other line. The manufacturer also says its double-helix line is designed for the GT 2.0. Using off-brand line of the correct diameter is therefore possible but may not feed reliably, so test a spool in the tool before relying on it for a job. Source: WORX GT 2.0 product FAQ.

Spools, replacement parts, and the free-spools offer
The GT 2.0 is supplied with preloaded spools. WORX’s product FAQ also describes a free-spools-for-life offer for GT 2.0 owners. The published copy does not give the offer’s terms, eligibility, or whether it is still running, so ask WORX directly before you plan around it. Do not assume a free spool is available just because the FAQ describes the offer.
Where to look for parts
- Start with WORX’s own support and product pages for the model, using the WG160.3 or tool-only listing that matches your tool.
- Look for replacement line specified as 0.065-inch, and check that the packaging names the GT 2.0 or compatible WORX trimmers.
- For batteries, match the battery model and voltage to your tool’s label, not just its family name.
- Because the WG160.3 is discontinued, some parts may be unavailable at retail. Confirm stock before you buy.
Batteries and charging
WORX says its 20V lithium batteries can be used within the matching 20V WORX family, and says not to use a 20V battery with a 32V tool. The WG160.3 listing describes two included 20V MaxLithium batteries in that configuration. Charge time is listed as approximately three hours.

WORX’s product FAQ states: “The safety guard is an essential part of the tool.” The same FAQ continues: “Not only does it keep you safe from any debris from the trimming & edging, it also helps regulate the length of the cutting line.” WORX says the tool will not operate properly without the guard, so do not run it with the guard removed or damaged. Refer to the full manual for complete safety instructions; this summary does not replace them.

Warranty
The WG160.3 listing states a three-year warranty after online registration within 30 days, and the same copy also describes a two-year limited consumer warranty. The two statements do not fully match, so verify the current warranty terms with WORX before relying on either figure, particularly for a discontinued model bought secondhand.
Buying or owning this model: a short checklist
- Confirm the model is the WG160.3 or the tool-only WG160 listing, not a WG163-family unit.
- Check the battery and charger labels against the listing before purchase.
- Ask WORX whether the free-spools offer applies to your unit and whether it is still available.
- Buy 0.065-inch line and test automatic feed before a long job.
- Keep the guard fitted at all times.
Comparing it with a current trimmer
No direct independent comparison of this model with current trimmers is available from this review’s sources. If you are weighing it against a current model, compare these axes using each manufacturer’s published values: cutting width, line feed method and replacement-line availability, edging conversion and wheel design, battery platform and included battery capacity, operating weight, warranty terms, and current parts availability.
The WG160.3’s published weight of 5.7 lb and 12-inch cutting width are the figures to set against any alternative, and both are manufacturer-listed values.
If you already own a WG160.3, the parts and battery checks above matter more than a head-to-head comparison.
