How the two-story RV expands at camp
In travel configuration, the Villa Edition is a road-going Class C motorhome with an alcove-style body. At a campsite, the reported setup combines two kinds of expansion: slide-outs in the side walls enlarge the lower living area, and a glass enclosure rises above the main roof to form a second-floor room. New Atlas describes the upper room’s split window walls folding below the oversized roof when lowered. A small deck sits over the cab.
The arrangement makes the vehicle’s appeal architectural as much as recreational: it changes from a compact travel profile into a taller, wider space intended for use while parked. The 2021 account does not provide travel height, vehicle weight, deployed footprint, or setup times, so those practical dimensions cannot be assessed from the published figures.
What is inside each level?
Ground floor
New Atlas reports a 20 sq m (215 sq ft) lower floor, associating the space with the dual sidewall expansions. The described layout has a lounge and kitchen divided by a bar counter. The kitchen includes a cooktop, oven, and sink, with a refrigerator in a nearby closet. Other reported features include an L-shaped sofa, transparent television, audio equipment, and ceiling-mounted projection units.

Upper glass room
The upstairs area is reported as 12.4 sq m (133 sq ft). Its glazing was described as switchable between clear and opaque, allowing the room to shift between an open view and greater privacy. New Atlas presents the space as a place to lounge, dine, drink tea, or study; its elevated position is intended to provide an indoor view from camp.
Sleeping space
The feature identifies a sleeping alcove above the cab. It does not establish other sleeping berths or a total sleeping capacity, so the sofa and other seating should not be counted as beds without a confirmed specification.

How the elevator and smart controls were described

Showcase concept, not a confirmed current RV listing
New Atlas reported that SAIC Maxus revealed the Villa Edition at a premiere event the previous October and framed it as a demonstration of the company’s customization program. The feature, published February 18, 2021, is not evidence that the model remains for sale, entered series production, or is supported in a particular country. It also does not provide independent testing or technical documentation for the glass, elevator, smart controls, or roof mechanism.
For construction-minded readers, the concept is notable for how it uses deployable space: lateral expansion creates a broader main floor, while a raised enclosure adds a separate destination above it. But judging real-world suitability would require verified information about deployed and travel dimensions, structural and mechanical specifications, accessibility, and production support—details not established in the published account.
