How does the café acknowledge the building’s former use?
The reinstated façade
According to the opening report, the owners reinstated the building’s original façade. This preserves a visible connection to the structure’s earlier life, even as its use changes from library to café. The report does not provide architectural plans, identify an architect, or establish whether the building has formal heritage designation.
Library imagery inside
The reported interior feature is special black-and-white wallpaper depicting people in the library. Rather than relying only on the building’s former name, the imagery brings its library history into the café’s interior. The available account does not describe other specific materials, finishes, or renovation details.

What was reported about the menu and opening hours?
PerthNow’s opening story named a Big Breakfast and a Fluffy Koala as menu examples. These are examples reported at opening, not confirmation of the current menu. Dôme’s official homepage describes the brand’s broader offer as an all-day menu, seasonal classics, and a junior menu, but does not verify what Manning currently serves.
The same opening-era report said the café would open seven days a week, from 6am to 9pm. Those hours were reported in November 2024; the official homepage reviewed for this article does not confirm the Manning venue’s current schedule or operating status. Check directly with Dôme before planning a visit.
