Start with the mower model number, then compare collection capacity, emptying method, installation parts, and whether an add-on bagger or dedicated collection mower fits your workload. There is no established universal winner: the specifications below are manufacturer-published, not independent side-by-side test results.
How to choose a zero-turn bagger
- Match the bagger to the mower. Check the mower’s full model number, series, and deck width in the manufacturer’s fitment listing. Deck width alone does not confirm compatibility. Cub Cadet’s catalog directs buyers to verify fit by model number and lists multiple systems and deck widths: Cub Cadet baggers.
- Compare collection capacity and design. Look for stated capacity, number and type of bags, discharge arrangement, and any sight window or other fill indicator. Treat these as specifications, not proof of real-world speed or clog resistance.
- Check how you will empty it. A bagger that must be unloaded manually has different workflow implications from a system with a powered dump. Confirm the emptying method for the specific model.
- Price the complete installation. Check whether the mower requires an adapter, front weight, or other parts, and whether those are included. Confirm current local price, stock, and service support before ordering.
- Match the equipment to the work. A mower-mounted system may suit an owner or crew that already uses a compatible zero-turn. A dedicated collection mower is another option for professional work, but requires evaluating the complete machine and its current availability.
A fit-specific residential and property-maintenance option
Cub Cadet Ultima ZTX triple bagger, 49A70002100
Cub Cadet lists this bagger for Ultima ZTX and ZTXS series zero-turn mowers with 54- or 60-inch decks from 2020 onward. The product listing specifies an 11-bushel capacity, three vented bags, top discharge, a 9-inch boot and chute, and a sight window. These are the manufacturer’s stated features; they do not establish comparative mowing performance. See the 49A70002100 product listing.
The listing says adapter kit 490-950-C062 is required for all Ultima ZTXS steering-wheel models. Cub Cadet displayed a price of $980.49 when the listing was accessed on October 8, 2026; price and availability can change, so verify them with the manufacturer or dealer before purchase. Confirm the exact mower model and installation instructions rather than relying on the series or deck match alone.
Installation requirements can change the total cost
Fitment is more than whether the attachment mounts to the deck. The product listing identifies a required adapter for the specified ZTXS steering-wheel models. Separately, Cub Cadet’s assembly document says a front-weight kit is required for compatible zero-turn tractor models equipped with a grass collector. That requirement should not be generalized to every mower or bagger: check the instructions for the exact mower and kit. Cub Cadet grass-collector assembly document.

Professional landscaping: add-on system or dedicated collection mower?
Exmark UltraVac: an attachment approach
Exmark describes UltraVac as a collection-system extension for its zero-turn mowers. It is therefore an add-on approach for buyers already considering or operating compatible Exmark equipment. The manufacturer page is the place to confirm current mower compatibility and configuration: Exmark UltraVac.
Exmark Navigator: a dedicated mower approach
Exmark’s Navigator article describes a dedicated bagging mower offered in 42- and 48-inch configurations with a 76-gallon bagger and an optional powered dump attachment. Those details come from an older manufacturer article, not a current availability confirmation. Verify that the machine and configuration are still offered before using them as a purchase option. For a professional crew, compare the two approaches by considering the equipment already in the fleet, the number of collection stops in the work pattern, the emptying process, required parts, and local dealer or service support. The cited specifications do not establish which approach is faster, more durable, or better at preventing clogs.

The cited manufacturer information supplies useful fitment and configuration details for the Cub Cadet bagger and describes two Exmark collection approaches. It does not provide a controlled, independent comparison across brands or establish a best bagger for every lawn, crew, or mower. Claims about cut quality, collection speed, clogging, or durability require evidence beyond these product descriptions.

If a manufacturer or dealer cannot confirm fitment for the precise mower and deck, do not treat a similar model or deck width as proof that the system will fit.
