Better Homes & Gardens valance listings include coordinated kitchen tier-and-valance sets in patterns such as Willa Plaid, Tonal Windowpane and embroidered botanical, as well as a linen-blend light-filtering option. The best fit depends on your window measurements and whether you need privacy, light control or mainly a decorative finish. The examples below are Walmart listings; their specifications and availability can change.
Better Homes & Gardens valance sets to compare
These retailer listings are useful examples of the range, not a promise that every style or color is currently in stock. Check the live listing before buying, and do not assume specifications carry over from one pattern to another.
| Style | Listing details | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Willa Plaid | Three-piece kitchen curtain tier-and-valance set in Sage Green. Walmart listing | Individual valance and tier dimensions, fabric and care, light filtering, and current color options. |
| Tonal Windowpane | Three-piece curtain-and-valance tier set measuring 60 inches wide by 36 inches long. The listing names Vanilla Dream and also notes Soft Silver as a color option. Walmart listing | Confirm which measurement applies to each piece, the panel configuration, and whether the color options remain available. |
| Embroidered Botanical | Valance-and-tier listings appear in Soft Silver and Vanilla Dream. Walmart listings | Check the exact listing for dimensions, piece count, fabric, care instructions, and hanging details. |
| Linen Blend Light Filtering | Rod-pocket kitchen tier-and-valance set; three panels in Papyrus Beige, with 60-inch by 36-inch dimensions stated in the product title. Walmart listing | Confirm the dimensions for each panel and the listed material and care details. |
Product names and category terms vary. Search for “Better Homes and Gardens valance and tier set,” “curtain and valance tier set,” or “kitchen curtain tiers and valance set,” then compare the specifications on the actual listing.
How to choose the right set for your window
Start with the room’s purpose
- Decoration: Choose a pattern and color that suit the room, and confirm the set includes the valance and tiers you want.
- Light filtering: Look for that function in the specific listing. “Light filtering” does not, by itself, establish how much light will pass through.
- Privacy: Check the product’s material and description rather than assuming a kitchen tier set will provide the privacy you need. The examples do not establish a uniform privacy level.
Measure the window and hanging position
- Measure the window width and height, and note where the rod or rail sits relative to the frame.
- Measure the usable rod or rail width and check that the set’s listed dimensions suit the span you want to cover.
- Read dimensions by piece: a stated set size may not tell you the separate width and length of every tier and valance.
- Confirm the hanging method and that it works with your existing rod or rail. The linen-blend example is described as rod pocket; verify the method for any other style.
A buying guide surfaced for selecting valance and tier sizes, but its detailed sizing formulas are not established here. Measure your own window and rely on the dimensions in the product listing rather than applying an assumed universal fullness rule. Valance and tier sizing guide

What to confirm before ordering
- Piece count and dimensions: Confirm how many panels are included and which dimensions belong to the valance and each tier.
- Material and care: Check the live product details; do not infer fabric composition or washing instructions from a style name.
- Color and pattern: Verify the selected variant and its current availability, since options may differ by listing.
- Light and coverage: Match the stated function to the room’s needs; do not treat a decorative set as a guaranteed privacy or light-control solution.
- Rod compatibility: Check the hanging method and compare it with the rod or rail already installed.
