The best two-burner griddle depends first on where you’ll cook: a pan spanning two kitchen burners and a portable propane griddle are different appliances, not substitutes. For indoor stovetop cooking, the Nordic Ware Two Burner High-Sided Griddle is a clear option to consider. For outdoor cooking, compare the Blackstone 22-inch tabletop model with Traeger’s larger Irontop and dual-zone Flatrock—while checking current model details and availability before buying.
Choose the kind of two-burner griddle you need
“Two-burner griddle” can refer to cookware that sits across two burners on a kitchen range or a standalone propane appliance for patios, campsites, and tailgates. The first uses your existing cooktop; the second is an outdoor cooking unit. Decide on the setting before comparing size or features.
- Indoor stovetop: Choose a pan designed to span your cooktop’s burners. Check its dimensions and the maker’s cooktop guidance, especially if you have a glass-top range.
- Outdoor propane: Compare cooking area, overall footprint, portability, cooking-zone controls, and grease handling. A product described as “two zone” may not use the same burner layout as a conventional two-burner griddle.

Nordic Ware’s guide says two-burner stovetop griddles can suit larger batches and family breakfasts. It also advises checking the fit on your range and choosing a flat, smooth underside for glass-top stoves. Do not assume compatibility with a particular cooktop unless the product instructions confirm it.

Traeger says its Irontop heated more evenly than the Blackstone 36-inch 4-burner and 28-inch 2-burner Omnivore in a company head-to-head test conducted in March 2026. Its product page describes the method: after ten minutes on high under controlled conditions, Traeger compared the maximum and minimum temperatures across each cooking surface. This is the manufacturer’s own comparison, not independent evidence that the Irontop will perform better in every setup.

Traeger lists 468 square inches of cooking space for the Flatrock 2 Zone and says its two cooking zones have separate temperature controls. The maker describes a double U-burner design. “Two Zone” describes the independent cooking areas; it should not be read as proof that the appliance has the same burner arrangement as another product labeled two-burner.

Cooking area and footprint
Among the cited outdoor examples, listed cooking area ranges from 361 square inches for the Blackstone 22-inch tabletop model (BBQSource, June 2026) to 504 square inches for the Traeger Irontop (Traeger product page accessed October 8, 2026). Cooking area alone does not tell you whether the appliance will fit your storage space, vehicle, or patio. Compare the full dimensions as well; only the Irontop’s overall dimensions are stated in the cited product information here.
Heat controls and burner layout
Look for a clear description of how many independently controlled cooking zones a product offers. Traeger describes the Flatrock 2 Zone as having two separate temperature controls and a double U-burner design. Do not infer an identical burner configuration from the words “two burner” or “two zone” alone.
Best Value
- Space-saving Storage: Aside from outstanding portability, the collapsible stand design also effectively saves storage space. You can fold it down in seconds for easy storage, no more worrying about your griddle taking up too much space
- Spacious Cooking Area: With a spacious 314 sq. in. cooking area, you can cook up to 8 burgers at once. High-quality ceramic-coated griddle top delivers high temps and maintains even heat for impressive and consistent cooking results
- Ceramic-coated Griddle Top: Engineered with state-of-the-art technology, our ceramic-coated griddle top boasts better high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and scratch resistance. Note that the griddle top should be seasoned before use
- Safety Features: The griddle top can pass FDA and PFAS testing for safer and healthier cooking. During transportation of this griddle, two lid latch buckles ensure firm closure for enhanced security, avoiding the risk of accidentally popping open
- Extra Prep Space: A side shelf on the right side provides a perfect solution for positioning plates or ingredients, while two built-in hooks are ideal for hanging rags, thus keeping your cooking essentials within arm's reach
Surface, care, and grease handling
The indoor Nordic Ware example is cast aluminum with a PFAS-free ceramic nonstick coating, according to the manufacturer. Outdoor models require their own surface-care routine; follow the instructions for the specific griddle rather than applying cookware guidance to a gas unit. Grease features also differ: Traeger lists a grease bucket for the Irontop, while Blackstone’s 28-inch product page describes rear grease management.
Portability, warranty, and availability
For an outdoor model, check its weight and dimensions against how you plan to transport and store it. Confirm warranty coverage for your location and verify stock and exact SKU on the current product page. The reviewed Blackstone 28-inch listing showed the product unavailable and zero in stock, so it cannot be treated as a currently purchasable recommendation without a fresh availability check.
How to make the final choice
- Set the location: Choose a stovetop pan for indoor range use or a propane appliance for outdoor cooking.
- Measure the space: Check cooktop fit for cookware, or compare full appliance dimensions with your storage and cooking area.
- Match the cooking layout: Decide whether you need one continuous surface or independently controlled outdoor zones.
- Check the practical details: Review surface-care instructions, grease handling, fuel requirements, warranty terms, included accessories, and current stock for the exact model.
Sources and scope
This comparison uses Nordic Ware and Traeger product information for their own models, Nordic Ware’s guide for stovetop-griddle guidance, and BBQSource’s June 2026 listing for the Blackstone 22-inch tabletop specifications. TechGearLab says it tested 13 griddles and names the Nordic Ware 2-Burner as a stovetop option; its page was updated December 5, 2025. That independent comparison is useful context, but its testing is not testing performed for this article.
