The right choice depends on whether you want a fresh-laundry impression, a floral note, or a fragrance you can adjust. Glade’s current U.S. PlugIns lineup includes Scented Oil and Scented Oil Plus, as well as CustomScent and Scent Flow product types. The scent descriptions below are the manufacturer’s, not results of independent scent testing.
Which Glade PlugIns scent smells best?
Choose by the impression you want in the room rather than by an unsupported “best” ranking. Glade’s product descriptions identify notes for specific fragrances, but they do not establish which one people prefer or how strong each scent is relative to the others.
| Option | Manufacturer’s description | May suit you if |
|---|---|---|
| Clean Linen refills | Crisp Air, Fresh Laundry and Lily of the Valley | You want a fresh, laundry-style scent. |
| CustomScent Frosted Eucalyptus & Waterlily | Fresh, cool eucalyptus paired with floral, serene waterlily; the warmer dial changes the balance. | You want to adjust the balance between two fragrance profiles. |
Choose a scent by the feeling you want
For a fresh, laundry-like impression: Clean Linen
Glade describes Clean Linen as having “airy notes of Crisp Air, Fresh Laundry and Lily of the Valley.” The product is sold as scented-oil refills. See Glade’s Clean Linen product details.
For an adjustable fresh-and-floral blend: Frosted Eucalyptus & Waterlily
CustomScent combines two profiles, and its warmer dial lets you change their balance. Turn toward the minus side for more Frosted Eucalyptus or toward the plus side for more Waterlily, according to Glade’s product directions.

For fruit or warm notes
Fruit and warm scents may appeal if you prefer those families, but the cited product information does not provide a comparable named fragrance and note list for them. Check the current product description for the specific refill before choosing; Glade’s U.S. PlugIns product page presents the current product types.
Standard warmer or Scented Oil Plus?
The fragrance choice and warmer features are separate decisions. Glade says its PlugIns scented-oil refills work in Glade PlugIns Scented Oil warmers and directs customers to use only Glade PlugIns refills in those warmers.

What to expect when you first plug in a refill
Glade says fragrance may be stronger during the first three days before leveling off. If a new refill seems too intense, adjust the warmer’s control to lower the intensity; Glade says you can also raise it. This guidance appears in the Glade FAQ and does not compare the strength of individual scents.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Do not generalize longevity claims across refills
Glade’s aromatherapy PlugIns page says that, on a low setting and when used 12 hours a day, its described product can provide “up to 100 days” of mood-inspiring scent. That is a manufacturer claim for the aromatherapy product under those stated conditions, not an independently verified result or a lifespan claim for every PlugIns refill. The page is available at Glade’s Aromatherapy PlugIns listing.
