Before ordering glass, confirm the enclosure’s fit dimensions against the installed receptor, check the angle and wall conditions, and make sure the door can open without hitting nearby fixtures.
What makes a shower enclosure neo-angle?
A neo-angle enclosure sits in a corner, with a diagonal front that cuts across the corner to form the entry. The National Glass Association (NGA) defines a true neo-angle shower as one with “one or more angles at 135°/45°” in its 2023 frameless shower enclosure manual. The actual angle in a bathroom may differ, so an angled front alone does not prove that a space has standard neo-angle geometry.

This layout is worth considering when a corner shower suits the room and a diagonal entry works with its traffic flow. It does not guarantee a particular floor-space saving: that depends on the room and enclosure dimensions.
Measure the shower before choosing glass
Start with the finished shower base or receptor. A nominal size such as “38-inch” is not enough to establish compatibility: the glass must match the base and the manufacturer’s specified fit criteria. Delta, for example, says its 422061 enclosure is designed for its 38-inch 422062 neo-angle base; that does not establish compatibility with another brand’s base.

- Finalize the base or threshold. Install it, or confirm its finished installation dimensions, before taking enclosure measurements. Follow the glass maker’s instructions for where to measure.
- Record the wall legs and door section. Measure each return-panel leg and the door section as directed by the manufacturer. Glassupply’s guide defines these measurements using the centerlines of the return panels and door section; use its measurement guide if you are following that supplier’s method.
- Check the corner angle. Do not assume that the walls form an exact 90-degree corner or that the glass must have precisely 135°/45° angles. The NGA recommends checking with an angle-measuring tool or a paper pattern and protractor.
- Measure the height from the correct finished surface. Use the threshold, tub deck or floor reference specified by the enclosure maker. Check more than one location when the ceiling or threshold is uneven.
- Document wall and surface irregularities. Tell the supplier if walls are out of plumb or surfaces slope. Glassupply asks customers to provide slope information when its out-of-plumb measurement exceeds 3/16 inch. That is the supplier’s measuring instruction, not a universal building-code rule.
For measurements or geometry that do not match a stock enclosure’s specifications, ask a qualified glass fabricator or installer whether a custom enclosure is appropriate. Do not try to make a mismatched stock unit fit by relying on an assumed adjustment range.
Check the door swing in the actual bathroom
Mark the door’s full operating arc on a floor plan or on the floor itself. Check whether it clears the toilet, vanity, bathroom entry and normal walking route. Confirm the direction of operation on the exact model: “reversible” or left- and right-hand installation does not necessarily mean the door can swing inward.
Delta’s 422061 product Q&A says it can be installed for left- or right-side opening, but does not support inward swing. If the only workable layout requires an inward-opening door, verify that capability with the manufacturer before purchase.
Compare actual enclosure candidates
There is no universal best model for every bathroom. Compare available candidates using their specifications and installation documents, then confirm stock, delivery, return terms and price with the seller on the day you buy.

| What to compare | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Fit and shape | Finished receptor dimensions, wall-leg measurements, measured angles, stated adjustment range and whether the enclosure is stock-size or custom. |
| Door access | Door width, hinge or pivot arrangement, left/right configuration, in-swing or out-swing support and clearance needed to operate the door. |
| Construction | Framed, semi-frameless or frameless design; glass type and thickness as stated by the manufacturer; and which channels, seals and hardware are included. |
| Package contents | Whether the listing includes glass only or also a base, wall kit, curb or other components. Check compatible model numbers rather than relying on a shared nominal size. |
| Installation and ownership | Manufacturer instructions, stated warranty, finish, replacement-part availability and whether qualified installation is available for the project. |
| Purchase terms | Current inventory, price, delivery and return terms from the retailer. These details can change and are seller-specific. |
The available category information does not establish that framed, semi-frameless or frameless construction is always more durable, easier to clean or better value. Treat those as preferences unless model-specific evidence supports a comparison.

The Delta 422061 is a documented example of a 38-inch frameless neo-angle enclosure, not a universal recommendation. Delta’s product page and specification sheet list clear tempered glass, 1/4-inch glass and a 72-inch overall height. The sheet gives 35 1/2-inch overall legs, 17 3/4-inch fixed-panel segments and a 25 1/4-inch diagonal door. Delta specifies the 422062 base for this enclosure.
At the time the product page was checked, it displayed the enclosure as out of stock. Its present stock status, price and retailer availability are not established here. Check the manufacturer and sellers directly before treating it as a purchase option. The page also identifies RP78934 as the 38-inch gasket set; confirm the enclosure model before ordering a replacement part.
When custom glass or an installer may be the better route
A stock enclosure is a sensible candidate only when its published fit criteria match the finished base and measured opening. If the walls are significantly out of plumb, the corner angle differs from the model’s requirements, or the opening dimensions fall outside its adjustment range, consult a glass professional before buying. Local installer availability and service terms vary by location, so confirm scope, measurement responsibility and installation requirements directly.
