The Pocket Rhino is a small folding, knife-style multitool described by New Atlas in 2019. Its stainless-steel chisel-profile blade is intended for cutting, scraping and prying, with a built-in bottle opener and a lanyard hole that can hold a quarter-inch hex bit. The published account documents a crowdfunding-era product, not whether it is available now.
What the Pocket Rhino does
New Atlas describes the Pocket Rhino as a flip knife that opens with a thumb. The stainless-steel blade has a chisel profile, with functions beyond cutting:
- Cutting: the primary knife function.
- Scraping and prying: tasks the maker’s design was presented to handle with the chisel-profile blade.
- Bottle opening: a bottle opener is formed into the blade’s top edge.
- Bit holding: the lanyard hole doubles as a holder for a quarter-inch hex bit.
The account does not report tests of edge performance, durability, ergonomics or safety, so these features should be understood as the design’s stated functions rather than independently measured results.
Reported size, weight and campaign prices
New Atlas’s August 1, 2019 article gives an open length and separate figures for two handle configurations. The prices below were early crowdfunding pledges at the time, not current retail prices.

| Titanium handle | 67 g (2.3 oz) | US$65, reported by New Atlas in 2019 |
New Atlas reported the tool at 3.5 in (88.5 mm) long when open. Its article said shipping was hoped for in November 2019; that was a planned date during the campaign, and actual delivery is not established by the report.
What the reported figures do—and do not—show
The figures support a basic comparison of handle material, reported weight and historical pledge price. They do not show that one version performed better, lasted longer or offered better value. The titanium-handled version is listed as heavier than the steel-handled version in the reported figures; no explanation or independent measurement is provided.

For the bit holder, the source specifies compatibility with quarter-inch hex bits but does not name or test a particular bit set. If that feature matters, check that a bit is quarter-inch size and confirm fit with the tool before relying on it.

The New Atlas article, published August 1, 2019, covers the Pocket Rhino during its crowdfunding period. It does not establish current stock, a present-day price or whether the planned November 2019 shipping occurred. Its quoted campaign prices should not be treated as current buying information.

New Atlas attributes the phrase “even a child can do it” to maker Vahit Dincman, referring to opening the micro-blade. That is a promotional statement, not a verified safety assessment or evidence that the tool is suitable for children.
