The Jiizer 01X was presented in 2024 as a handheld soldering tool with an internal solder-wire feed, plus attachments for heat cutting and a fan-driven airflow mode. Its listed specifications and functions come from campaign-era product coverage, not independent testing. Its delivery status is unresolved: a January 2025 update reported backer concerns after campaign updates stopped, but did not confirm whether the project ultimately delivered.
How the Jiizer 01X was designed to work
New Atlas reported on July 16, 2024 that solder wire feeds from inside the Jiizer 01X. A stepping motor advances the wire through a heated, needle-like tube, with the aim of letting a user hold the tool and solder with one hand rather than feed solder separately.
The reported design combines that feed mechanism with a temperature-controlled heating filament, a fan and an air outlet. New Atlas described three interchangeable needle tubes, a conventional soldering tip, optional heat-cutting attachments, and an airflow mode intended for jobs such as shrinking heat-shrink tubing. These are described product features, not independently verified performance claims. New Atlas’s July 2024 report is the source for the feature description.
What the campaign-era specifications said
According to the product specifications reported by New Atlas in 2024, the Jiizer 01X was rated at 165 W, was said to heat to its maximum in about 15 seconds, and had an adjustable temperature range of 80–450 °C. The report also listed up to three hours of continuous work. These are manufacturer-stated campaign-era figures; no independent test results were identified, so they should not be treated as measured outcomes.

The reported controls included an LCD and buttons for settings such as temperature, material extrusion and airflow. The standard campaign package was described as including the tool, three needle tubes, two solder-wire kits, a case and a charging cable. Pro and Premium packages reportedly added accessories, and separate tool and cutting kits were mentioned. Those package descriptions refer to the campaign, not current offers.
What is known about funding, delivery and availability
Kicktraq records the project as a Hong Kong campaign by Jiizer Design, with 145 backers and HK$154,557 pledged against a HK$24,000 goal. Its page reproduces campaign updates from July and October 2024. Funding records show that money was pledged; they do not establish that the product was manufactured or delivered. Kicktraq’s campaign record documents those historical figures.

New Atlas added an update dated January 29, 2025 saying readers had reported that campaign updates had stopped after October 29, 2024, and that some backers feared the creators might not deliver. That report describes concern, not confirmation of non-delivery. The available information does not establish current fulfillment, maker communications or retail availability, so the Jiizer 01X should not be assumed to be currently purchasable.

The concept differs from a conventional iron chiefly in how solder is delivered: the 01X was designed to advance wire through the handheld tool. Its additional reported cutting attachments and airflow mode broaden the proposed uses, but do not prove that it performs those jobs better than dedicated equipment.

For a practical comparison with a portable iron or soldering station, check the power source and portability, temperature control, compatible tips or attachments, and whether the tool has credible independent performance evidence. Availability, warranty and support also matter—and for the Jiizer, those present-day details have not been established. There is no verified head-to-head test in the cited coverage to support a claim of superiority.
If you need a tool for a job now, look for a currently sold soldering iron kit or electronics soldering tool with clearly stated specifications, support and return terms; do not treat a category alternative as the Jiizer 01X itself.
