Usually, no. Snake plants prefer low humidity, and misting only wets their leaves briefly; it does not meaningfully raise humidity for long or water the roots. Let the potting mix dry completely between waterings instead.
Why routine misting is unnecessary
The University of Illinois Extension recommends low humidity for mother-in-law tongue, another name for the snake plant, and advises letting its potting mix dry completely between waterings. University of Illinois Extension’s snake-plant care guidance identifies overwatering as the main reason the plant fails.
Misting is not a lasting way to change the air around a plant. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach says, “Misting houseplants is not an effective way to raise the relative humidity,” because foliage dries quickly afterward. Its guidance says misting would need to be repeated several times a day to be effective; that is practical guidance, not a snake-plant-specific study result. Iowa State’s humidity guidance also describes grouping plants or using a pebble tray as options for houseplants that need more humidity.
Misting leaves is not watering the plant
Water on the leaf surface does not substitute for watering the potting mix. When the mix has dried completely, water the soil rather than spraying the leaves or soil as a supposed watering method. The appropriate interval depends on conditions, so avoid treating any calendar schedule as universal.

The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service says snake plants prefer the dry side, grow slowly indoors, and are especially vulnerable to overwatering. Its November 2010 response offers watering once a month as a broad rule of thumb, not a fixed schedule for every home or pot. Arkansas Extension’s snake-plant guidance provides that context.
Use misting only for a limited cleaning purpose
Iowa State Extension notes that misting can help clean foliage, but may also help spread disease and does not raise humidity around plants. For dusty leaves, gently wiping them with a damp cloth is a practical alternative that avoids routinely wetting the plant. Iowa State’s houseplant-care guidance gives the cleaning and disease caveat.

When another houseplant needs more humidity
Snake plants are not a reason to add humidity: University of Florida IFAS Extension describes sansevieria as a succulent that prefers lower humidity. For other houseplants with different needs, Iowa State Extension suggests grouping plants or setting pots on a pebble tray with water, while keeping the pot bottoms above the waterline. These are general houseplant approaches, not requirements for snake plants.
