If you’re comparing the current U.S. models, the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 (NTL17125) lists a wider belt, decline, a higher user-capacity rating and a longer motor warranty. The current ProForm 9000-series treadmill is called the Carbon Pro 9000; its listed footprint is smaller. Both list a 12 mph top speed and a 60-inch belt. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent findings about comfort, reliability or performance.

First, confirm which ProForm 9000 you mean

“ProForm Pro 9000” can refer to an earlier generation. The current U.S. ProForm 9000-series product identified by the manufacturer is the Carbon Pro 9000. The comparison below uses that model and the current NordicTrack Commercial 1750, model NTL17125. Older Pro 9000 specifications should not be treated as Carbon Pro 9000 specifications.

Both manufacturers’ product pages can change, so confirm the model number and terms on the listing you intend to buy. Figures below are manufacturer-listed specifications for the current U.S. pages, not results from hands-on testing.

Which has the better running fit?

Both listings specify a 60-inch belt, while the NordicTrack’s listed belt is 22 inches wide and the Carbon Pro 9000’s is 20 inches wide. That difference may matter if you want more side-to-side room, but the dimensions alone cannot establish which treadmill will feel comfortable for a particular runner. Consider your stride, pace and how much room you want around your feet; if possible, try the treadmill or check the seller’s return terms.

What is the difference in incline and decline?

The Commercial 1750 lists incline up to 12% and decline down to -3%. The Carbon Pro 9000 lists a 0–12% incline and no decline range on its current product page. If downhill simulation is important to your training, the listed specifications favor the 1750 on that feature. The two models list the same maximum speed of 12 mph.

How do the screens differ?

Both treadmills list a 16-inch touchscreen. NordicTrack describes its screen as pivoting; ProForm describes the Carbon Pro 9000 screen as tilting. NordicTrack specifically describes off-equipment workouts on the 1750 page, so consider whether you plan to use the screen away from the running belt and confirm the movement and workout options that apply to the model you’re buying.

Which treadmill fits the room?

The Carbon Pro 9000 has the smaller listed footprint in length and width: 73.2 x 34.6 inches, compared with 77.3 x 37 inches for the Commercial 1750. Its listed height is 60.7 inches, versus 59.5 inches for the 1750. These dimensions describe the listed footprint, not the clearance needed for safe use or installation. Measure the intended location and check the exact model’s setup and clearance instructions before ordering.

Do you need iFIT?

Both products are connected to iFIT, but access to connected workouts and equipment features depends on membership and connectivity. ProForm says a paid iFIT Pro membership and Wi-Fi are required for full content and equipment features on the Carbon Pro 9000; it also describes manual workouts without iFIT on its Pro Series page. ProForm’s current service information is at iFIT. NordicTrack describes automated trainer-following and other connected functions with iFIT Pro membership on the 1750 page.

How to compare warranties and total cost

The displayed warranty terms differ by component: the 1750 lists lifetime motor coverage and two years of parts, while the Carbon Pro 9000 lists two years for both motor and parts. Both pages list 10-year frame coverage and one year for the tablet, labor and repairs. Compare the exact written warranty and its conditions rather than treating a longer term for one component as a guarantee of overall durability.

Which one should you choose?

  • Consider the Commercial 1750 if its wider listed belt, decline range, higher listed user capacity, pivoting screen or longer listed motor warranty matches your needs.
  • Consider the Carbon Pro 9000 if its smaller listed length and width suit your room and you do not need the 1750’s listed decline feature.
  • For either model, verify the generation, measurements, warranty terms, subscription requirements and purchase costs on the exact listing before committing.
