The NeueChair Obsidian is the dark-finish version of Neue’s mesh task chair, with advertised seat and back adjustments and height- and depth-adjustable lumbar support. Its main practical distinctions are the Obsidian finish’s care requirements and a component-based warranty that ranges from three to 12 years. The available evidence does not establish current local pricing, stock, full dimensions, or hands-on comfort results, so confirm fit and purchase terms with the seller before deciding.
What is the NeueChair Obsidian?
Obsidian is a finish option for the NeueChair, alongside Silver. Neue describes the chair as a mesh task chair and says its NeueMesh uses three layers made from polyester fibre and DuPont yarn. The advertised construction and controls are manufacturer specifications, not independent verification of performance.
According to the manufacturer’s product page, the chair includes height and backrest-tilt controls operated by ControlShift levers, a sliding seat, a Focus mode adjustment, and lumbar support adjustable in height and depth. The company also lists a double-layer Class IV hydraulic lift, ADC12 aluminum alloy in the supporting structure, and 65 mm PU casters with noise-reducing caps.
How does the Obsidian finish affect care?
Neue says the Obsidian model has an additional industrial plating layer. Its care instructions recommend periodic protective wax for Silver in humid environments, but say wax is not required for Obsidian. This is a manufacturer care distinction, not evidence that the finish is maintenance-free.

Please note: Each chair is handmade, so there may be slight variations in curves or individual pieces. Minor differences from the description may occur, and we appreciate your understanding.
For the mesh, Neue recommends gentle vacuuming to remove dust. For spills, it advises blotting or wiping carefully with a soft cloth and mild soap, then allowing the material to air dry. See the manufacturer’s aftercare guidance for its instructions.
What does the warranty cover?
Neue’s stated warranty duration depends on the component. Its terms also list exclusions for wear and changes in mechanism tightness.

Is the NeueChair Obsidian likely to fit?
A question about whether the NeueChair seems too small appears in user-discussion wording, but that concern does not establish the chair’s dimensions or determine who it suits. The available product information does not provide verified seat width, seat depth, user-height guidance, or weight capacity. Do not rely on an assumed fit range.
