Before ordering, confirm your van’s model year, wheelbase, roof height, cargo or crew configuration, windows, air conditioning and existing modifications with the company. The kit supplies key interior components; you choose the layout, bed, storage, kitchen and other systems that make the van work for your trips.
Start with exact Sprinter fitment
Adventure Wagon lists compatibility with Mercedes-Benz Sprinters from 2007 onward, in 144- or 170-inch wheelbases, with a high roof and cargo or crew configuration. Those specifications are a starting point, not a guarantee that every van with those basics will fit. The company flags all-around windows, rooftop air conditioning and permanent aftermarket additions in the cargo area as possible compatibility concerns. If your van has any of these features or has been modified, get confirmation for that exact configuration before purchase. See Adventure Wagon’s compatibility information.
The company also offers a system designed for Ford Transit vans, but this article focuses on Sprinters; Transit fitment should not be inferred from Sprinter specifications.
What the Interior System provides
Adventure Wagon describes the kit as an engineered interior foundation that brings together components often sourced separately. Its DIY overview lists a steel A-frame, L-track, insulation and sound-deadening, a pre-wired 12V harness, wall and ceiling panels, molded trim, a roof vent fan, hardware, templates and guides. The Interior System page identifies the fan as a Maxxair and also names outlets and lights. Components may vary by configuration, so request the current bill of materials for your van before buying. See the DIY overview and Interior System page.

The system is not, by itself, a complete motorhome. You still need to decide how to provide sleeping, storage, cooking, electrical capacity and any other functions your travel plans require. The structure is intended to support a build that you configure, rather than dictate a single furnished layout. Adventure Wagon summarizes its approach this way: “You choose the components, materials, layout, and gear that fit your goals. We provide the structure that makes it all work together.”
How installation works—and where help fits
Adventure Wagon outlines three routes: do the installation yourself, use its factory installation, or work with a certified installer. For DIY, the company says builders generally need common tools as well as a rivnut setter and a rivet setter. Follow the current kit instructions for the required tools and fasteners; do not assume a tool will work with a particular fastener without checking compatibility.

For a hybrid approach, Adventure Wagon describes a partial-install option in which its team handles the A-frame installation and hole cutting. That may suit an owner who wants to assemble the rest of the interior but prefers help with those steps. Ask the company which services are available for your location and build.
Adventure Wagon estimates DIY installation at two to three weeks and factory installation at two weeks. These are company estimates, not guaranteed completion times; the actual schedule depends on the chosen path and project.

Ways to build in stages
Add a separate bed
A standalone sleeping platform can be one stage of a larger build. Adventure Wagon’s MOAB Elevator Bed page lists compatible high-roof Sprinter configurations and says a standalone bed requires a bed installation kit with wall braces and L-track. Confirm that the bed and mounting kit fit your exact van and intended setup. The MOAB bed page displayed a starting price of $3,900 when checked in 2026; it is a vendor-listed starting figure, not an installed-build budget. See Adventure Wagon’s MOAB bed details.
Use removable camping modules
VanEssa presents a separate route built around removable sleeping systems, storage modules and thermal blackout mats, along with Sprinter conversion offerings. Its catalog does not establish that these products are equivalent to the Adventure Wagon Interior System or compatible with it. Check the exact Sprinter model and product fit on the relevant VanEssa catalog page.
Plan a custom conversion
An independent upfitter or a fully custom build may make more sense if the van needs a layout or fixed systems that do not align with a modular foundation. Compare the actual scope of work—not just the headline price—including vehicle fit, installation responsibility, what can later be removed, and how fixed wiring, cabinetry or appliances constrain changes.

Adventure Wagon’s Interior System page displayed a starting price of $16,000 when checked in 2026. The figure is a vendor-listed starting point, not the complete cost of a finished van; separately selected components and installation may affect the overall spend. Prices, contents and availability can change, so confirm current terms with the company before making a budget.
Adventure Wagon’s company page listed a three-year limited warranty when checked in 2026. Review the current written warranty and ask what support is available for a DIY installation before purchase. A warranty duration alone does not establish which parts, labor or circumstances are covered.
