Before replacing a Samsung dishwasher drain hose, identify the dishwasher’s full model number and check its installation guide and parts documentation for a compatible hose. Samsung does not specify one universal replacement hose or a model-independent repair procedure. Turn off power at the circuit breaker before inspecting a leak; if the hose itself is leaking or damaged, Samsung advises requesting service.
Before you replace the hose
Start with the full model number on your dishwasher, then use Samsung’s model-specific installation guide, user manual and parts listing to confirm the replacement hose and any required fittings. Samsung’s general dishwasher setup overview is not a substitute for those model-specific instructions. The available Samsung guidance does not establish a universal drain-hose part number or cross-model compatibility.
- Confirm the exact model and the hose listed for it before ordering.
- Check the replacement hose’s length and connection dimensions against the model documentation and the actual installation.
- Verify whether your setup requires a connector adapter. Samsung says an adapter from a plumbing or hardware supplier may be used if the hose does not fit the sink connector.
- Check local plumbing requirements and follow the included installation guide; requirements and installation details can vary.
Installation hardware may also vary by series. For example, Samsung’s DW80CG40 Series parts listing identifies an installation kit that includes a drain-hose cable tie; it does not identify a replacement hose part number.
Decide whether this is a hose replacement or a connection repair
If the leak is at the home plumbing connection
Turn off the dishwasher’s power at the circuit breaker before inspecting a leak. If the leak is specifically at the drain hose’s connection to the home plumbing, Samsung says the connection may need to be installed correctly. Its setup instructions require a hose clamp at the sink connector to help prevent leaks.

If the hose body is leaking or damaged
Samsung directs users to request service for a leak elsewhere along the drain hose. Its drainage troubleshooting guidance also recommends service if a damaged hose cannot be straightened. Do not treat a cracked or leaking hose body as a connection adjustment.
Replace and route the hose using the model’s instructions
Samsung’s public setup guidance covers routing and securing the hose, but it is not a complete step-by-step replacement procedure for every model. Use the installation guide for your dishwasher for access, removal, and reconnection details. Once the hose is fitted, check these installation points:

- Keep the hose unpinched. Route it so it cannot be trapped behind the dishwasher or crushed beneath the unit. Samsung notes that a dishwasher sitting on its own drain hose can pinch it shut.
- Avoid kinks and sharp bends. Keep the hose’s path as open as the model instructions allow; a kink or bend can contribute to drainage trouble.
- Secure the sink connection with a hose clamp. Samsung states, “You must use a hose clamp to prevent leaks.” Select a clamp that fits the actual hose and connector rather than assuming one size fits every installation.
- Use the required backflow-protection routing. Samsung says to create a high loop when no air gap is present. Follow your model’s installation instructions and local plumbing rules for the required arrangement.
- Use an adapter only if the connection requires it. If the hose does not fit the sink connector, Samsung says an adapter from a plumbing or hardware supplier may be used; verify suitability for your specific connection.
Check for leaks and drainage problems
After the hose is connected and routed, follow the dishwasher’s model-specific instructions for returning it to service. Check the sink connection for leakage and confirm the hose has not shifted into a kinked, pinched, or low-loop arrangement. If water leaks from the hose body, or a damaged section will not straighten, stop and contact Samsung service. For a dishwasher that still does not drain, Samsung’s drainage troubleshooting guidance identifies pinching, kinks or bends, and missing air-gap or high-loop routing as items to check.

- You cannot confirm a compatible replacement hose or the correct model-specific connection procedure.
- The installation would conflict with local plumbing requirements or the model’s instructions.
Samsung’s leak guidance advises turning off power at the circuit breaker before inspection and distinguishes a home-connection leak from leakage elsewhere along the hose.
