On Samsung dryer models with the common lift-out filter, open the door and pull the lint filter straight up from its slot inside the drum opening. Keep its rubber seal attached, clean the filter after every load, and reinstall it before running the dryer. Filter designs vary, so check your model’s manual if yours looks different or will not lift out easily.
Remove the lint filter without forcing it
- Open the dryer door and find the lint filter inside the drum opening.
- Pull the filter upward to lift it out. If it does not move as expected, stop rather than forcing it and consult the manual for your exact model.
- Leave the rubber seal or packing attached to the filter.
- If your filter has two sections, open the outer section and remove the inner filter.
Samsung Korea’s filter case instructions describe lifting the filter upward, retaining the rubber packing, and separating inner and outer sections on applicable models. The guidance varies by dryer, so the construction of your filter—not a one-size-fits-all assumption—should guide removal.
Clean the filter and accessible compartment
Remove lint from the filter after every load. Samsung US recommends cleaning it before or after every load in its dryer-cleaning instructions. A brush can help remove remaining dust from the filter; a pipe cleaner can be used for lint in the accessible filter compartment. Keep cleaning to the filter and accessible area rather than disassembling the dryer.
If the model’s instructions allow rinsing the filter, let it dry completely before reinstalling it. Do not shake or tap it while cleaning. Samsung Philippines cautions that a wet filter may contribute to mold, bad odors, or reduced drying performance; see its filter-alert guidance.

Reinstall it before operating the dryer
Put the filter back into its slot in the correct orientation before starting a cycle. Samsung US says, “Do not operate the dryer without the lint filter in place.” Keep the filter installed while loading or unloading laundry as well, so small items do not fall into the opening.
When to replace the filter
Do not use a damaged or broken lint filter. For a replacement, use the full dryer model number to identify a compatible part through Samsungparts.com; filter shapes and part numbers vary, and a universal fit is not established. If your filter’s shape, removal direction, or construction differs from these steps, refer to the user manual for your model.
