Taylor Swift reportedly bought a Watch Hill, Rhode Island, mansion for $17.75 million in cash in 2013. The property is commonly identified in local accounts as Holiday House or High Watch, but the reported price comes from secondary reporting rather than an inspected deed. The official historic designation applies to the surrounding Watch Hill Historic District; an individual listing for the house itself is not established here.

What is Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island mansion?

The house is in Watch Hill, a coastal village in Westerly, Rhode Island. Local history coverage identifies the property as Holiday House, also known as High Watch. The Associated Press described Swift’s Watch Hill home in June 2026 as a sprawling white residence perched on a rocky bluff overlooking the Atlantic, without publishing details that would establish its interior or precise location.

Watch Hill Guide’s account, updated May 24, 2026, connects the property’s history with earlier Watch Hill residents and cites the local history book Watch Hill Through Time. Those historical details belong to that local account; they should not be mistaken for a verified deed history or official preservation record.

How much did Taylor Swift pay for her Rhode Island mansion?

The New England Historical Society reported that Swift paid $17.75 million in cash for the property in 2013. That is a reported purchase price, not an amount confirmed here through an inspected deed.

Is Taylor Swift’s Watch Hill house a historic landmark?

Rhode Island’s Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission lists the Watch Hill Historic District, with a listing date of September 5, 1985. That establishes the historic status of the district, not an individual National Register listing for Swift’s house.

The commission’s RI National Register Search describes a search of evaluated properties and cautions that its records can be incomplete or contain errors. The sources cited here do not verify whether the mansion has a separate individual listing.

Can the public visit the mansion?

No. The home is a private residence, not a public attraction. Neither its reported historic context nor its location in a designated district makes it open to visitors. Respect residents’ privacy and do not treat rumors about the property or private events as confirmed facts.
