The EXOD Monolith is a one-person inflatable shelter that can be pitched on the ground or suspended using its carbon spreader bars and webbing. EXOD lists the complete system at 4.5 kg, including the components for both configurations; the tent itself weighs 2.9 kg. Its air-suspended setup is unusual, but it adds gear and rigging, and the manufacturer’s current listings show both color options out of stock.
What the EXOD Monolith is—and how it can be used
The Monolith is a solo capsule-style shelter built around an inflatable structure. EXOD describes two configurations: conventional ground use and suspended use, in which telescopic carbon spreader bars and webbing straps support the shelter above the ground. The modular system comprises the inflatable shelter, two spreader bars and 16 m of webbing. EXOD’s Monolith overview says the shelter can be deployed on the ground in under 15 seconds; that is the manufacturer’s claim, not an independently timed result.
The suspended arrangement is not simply a tent hung from a convenient branch. It requires the supplied support components and installation steps in the manual. EXOD’s documentation is the place to follow for deployment and stabilization; the available specifications do not establish that any particular tree, anchor, terrain or weather condition is suitable.

These are the current figures on EXOD’s Monolith product listing. The 4.5 kg total is the more relevant number if you are considering the full ground-and-suspended system; 2.9 kg is the shelter alone, not the complete kit. EXOD says the pack includes a 0.7 L hand pump, repair kit, pegs and guy lines.

Launch-era figures differ: New Atlas reported in January 2022 that the ground kit weighed 6.4 lb (2.9 kg), while the full ground-and-air combination weighed 10.1 lb (4.6 kg). It also gave the packed ground kit as 16 × 13 × 9 in (40 × 32 × 23 cm) and the sleeping floor as 79 × 34 in (200 × 87 cm). Those are historical reported specifications, not a replacement for EXOD’s current listing. New Atlas, January 6, 2022, described the Monolith at launch as a smaller, lighter and less expensive option than EXOD’s earlier Ark; that comparison is launch context, not a current price comparison.
What to know before using it
EXOD’s manual says the Monolith is designed for “relaxing and sleeping/camping.” It also warns against jumping in or on the tent or using it as a trampoline or swing, and says not to exceed the maximum load or height. Use the manual’s specific suspension and stabilization instructions rather than improvising a rig. Read EXOD’s Monolith user manual.

The published material does not establish independent storm, wind or durability performance, nor does it provide a basis for ranking the Monolith against other tents for weather protection. Treat its unusual suspended format as a configuration option, not proof that it is suitable for every site or condition.

EXOD’s store also promotes the AIR STATION POD-01, but it is a separate, larger shelter—not another name or a like-for-like replacement for the Monolith. EXOD’s store.
