Before drilling, check for concealed pipes, cables, wires, and ductwork. Dyson’s instructions say wall fixings are not included.
Before you start
- Check the installation leaflet supplied with your dock and confirm it is the right dock for your exact V7 model.
- Gather a drill and wall fixings appropriate to the wall material. Dyson does not include wall fixings, and its guidance does not specify a universal screw, anchor, or drill-bit size.
- Choose a location close enough to a suitable power socket for the charger cable to reach with some slack.
- Wear protective clothing and eyewear, as Dyson recommends for installation.
Choose the location and mark the height
Before making holes, check what is behind the proposed mounting area. Dyson warns against drilling where gas, water, or air pipes, electrical cables, wires, or ductwork may be concealed. Follow the dock leaflet and applicable local requirements.
Set the dock so its lowest screw point is at least 1.2 m (47¼ in) above the floor. This is the measurement reference in Dyson’s general V7 support guide; it allows the vacuum to hang without resting on the floor. Use the supplied leaflet to identify the fixing-hole positions and spacing, then mark the two holes.
Route the charger cable through the dock
- Feed the charger cable through the rear of the dock.
- Hold the cable in place with the retainer clip.
- Clip the cable end into the small bracket on the front of the dock until it clicks.
Drill and secure the dock
Drill the two marked holes using the positions and spacing shown in the supplied installation leaflet. Install screws and anchors—or other appropriate fixings—selected for the specific wall surface, then secure the dock. The V7 guidance does not establish a single fixing type for every wall, so do not assume one set of screws and anchors will suit all materials.

Hang the vacuum and connect the charger
Seat the vacuum in the mounted dock and check that it hangs clear of the floor. Connect the charger to a suitable mains outlet. For the dock configuration supplied with your machine, consult the V7 user manual and installation guide.
Check dock compatibility before buying
Dyson lists part 967741-02 as a wall-mounted docking station for recharging a vacuum and storing tools, and names the V7 Car + Boat as compatible. That listing does not establish compatibility with every V7 variant. Check your exact machine model against the current Dyson parts page for your region before ordering; product compatibility and stock status can change.
