If your Febreze AIR Mist can will not spray, first use it exactly as Febreze directs: hold the can upright and press and hold the trigger. Don’t shake it. Febreze’s published directions do not provide a nozzle-removal or unclogging procedure, so avoid dismantling or puncturing the pressurized can; ask Febreze/P&G for product-specific help if correct use does not work.
Use the can as directed first
- Keep the can upright. Febreze’s AIR Mist product directions say: “Hold the Air Mist can upright and press and hold the trigger.”
- Press and hold the trigger. Use the trigger as directed rather than repeatedly tapping it.
- Do not shake the can. Febreze’s directions say, “Don’t shake!”
If it still will not spray after these steps, the published directions do not establish a Febreze-approved nozzle fix. Do not pry the nozzle off, insert an object into it, or try to repair the aerosol mechanism.
What to do if it still will not spray
Ask Febreze/P&G for product-specific guidance
Contact Febreze consumer support and describe the product and what happens when you press the trigger. The available product directions do not confirm a nozzle repair method, separately sold replacement nozzle, repair kit, or a particular replacement policy.
Consider replacing the can
If support cannot resolve the problem, replacing the can is a practical fallback. Do not transfer contents to another container or attempt to open the can.

Keep aerosol safety in mind
- Febreze says not to use AIR Mist near an open flame.
- Febreze advises keeping birds away from the spray and moving a bird to another room until the area has ventilated.
