N’arrow is a private residence by Mykonos Architects, planned for a narrow, sloping site in the Heraklion area of Crete. Its elongated, arrow-like form is designed to sit partly within the terrain, using the plot’s geometry and a reported 15-metre boundary setback to shape the layout. The studio lists the project as in progress for 2025–2027; Archisearch reports that it received a 2025 GRAIL Award in the “not realized architectural study” category, which does not establish that construction is complete.
How the hillside and plot shaped the design
The design starts with a constrained site rather than a freestanding object placed on top of it. Mykonos Architects describes a slender, elongated residence embedded in Crete’s rugged terrain. Archisearch reports that the narrow plot, its slope and topography, and a 15-metre boundary setback requirement informed the plan. The reported gross built area is 280 m².
That geometry gives the house its name and visual character: a long body ending in a sharp, arrow-like tip. The studio presents the building as a cave-like dwelling, with its form intended to follow the hillside rather than dominate it. New Atlas likewise describes the project as partially embedded in the slope, corroborating the broad design approach, though it is not a construction specification.
What the project description says the house includes
Daylight and flexible space
Archisearch’s project account describes a sun shaft and a flexible multi-use area as part of the design. It also refers to planted roof or shaft elements. These features are presented as design responses to the site; the available coverage does not provide independent measurements of daylight, thermal comfort, or energy use.

Glazing and pool
The studio describes large glazed areas and an infinity pool, with Archisearch also noting a continuous pool area. Those elements connect the interior and outdoor spaces in the project’s presentation, but published descriptions do not establish construction details or how the finished house will perform.
Materials: the published accounts differ
Mykonos Architects describes concrete and steel elements, a material description also reflected in New Atlas’s coverage. Archisearch instead says rammed earth was selected and discusses its thermal mass and local-sourcing rationale. The sources do not clarify whether these descriptions refer to different parts of the design or to different versions. It is therefore not possible to identify one definitive material palette from the published accounts.
Archisearch’s discussion of thermal mass and local materials is a design rationale, not reported performance testing. No verified energy-use, carbon, cost, or indoor-temperature figures are given in the available coverage.
Project status and the 2025 award
Mykonos Architects lists N’arrow as a private residential project in progress, with a 2025–2027 project period. Archisearch reported on 28 February 2025 that the project won a GRAIL Award in the “not realized architectural study” category. The award describes the work’s recognition in that category; it should not be read as evidence that the residence had been built. The studio’s current project listing is the source for its stated status and schedule.

Project team and sources
Mykonos Architects credits Aude Mazelin, Nikolas Alysandratos, and Xara Karatzali on the project. The studio describes the residence as designed to harmonize with Crete’s terrain and heritage. Archisearch notes that its project text was supplied by the authors, so its explanations of the design are best understood as project-description material rather than independent technical verification.
