The FireVac 7200 is the emergency voice/alarm subsystem for Fire Control Instruments’ 7200 Series fire alarm control—not a generic stand-alone amplifier. Its surviving installation and operating addendum is a 1998 archival manual, useful for identifying documented configurations and parts but not proof of present-day support, availability, listing, or code acceptance.

The primary reference is the FCI FireVac 7200 Installation/Operating Addendum, part 9000-0405, version 1.3, copyright 1998. It covers the FireVac subsystem as integrated with the 7200 Series control. The product-level context appears in the 1997 FCI 7200 Series control data sheet and the 1998 FireVac 7200 product sheet.
The addendum directs readers to a separate FCI Field Configuration Program manual, part 9000-0360, for configuration workflow. The documents are historical references. They do not establish that the equipment or documentation is still supported or that any particular installed system remains properly configured.
What the FireVac 7200 does
FireVac 7200 is an integral audio evacuation system for the FCI 7200 Series fire alarm control. The base 7200 control data sheet lists FireVac operation as an optional feature. The addendum describes voice and alarm signaling, two-way telephone communications, and manually controlled process monitoring. Its field configuration uses user-defined general alarm lists and input-to-output relationships stored in non-volatile memory.

- Manual Call Point: Dual Action Manual Call Point Fire Alarm Panic Button Designed for traditional fire alarm systems to report a fire or emergency with its push/pull handle latch.
- Easy to Operate: Dual action pull station with key lock, come with 2 keys. Attached with installation instructions.
- Open Alarm Switch: Once locked in the down position, the words "ACTIVATED" appear in bright yellow on the top and part of the handle protrudes from the bottom as a visible sign. Push in and pull down on the handle to activate the normally open alarm switch.
- Reliable: Fire Alarm Station can be used directly with the alarm or horn. Switching voltage and current: <250V 2A, Max.500W.
- Strobe Siren Horn: Ultra-loud sound, alarm volume greater than or equal to 105dB. Built-in 6 LEDs, super bright when the alarm signal is issued, effectively remind people away from fire.
The Audio Evacuation Unit communicates with the 7200 Series system, Command Control Units, Telephone Control Units, and Switch Input Modules. The addendum says its signaling line circuit can monitor up to 20 plug-in modules, with up to 100 control switches and 99 output modules—199 points total. The Command Center includes operator functions such as reset, event acknowledgment, and alarm silence.
Documented configurations
The 1998 addendum describes four basic configurations, which may also be combined. These are descriptions of the historical system, not current design guidance or code requirements.
Rank #2
- EASY OPERATION: Push then pull down the handle to trigger the fire alarm signal
- CONTROL PANEL REQUIRED: Works with wired fire alarm systems, not a standalone unit
- CLEAR INDICATION: "ACTIVATED" appears when triggered for quick visual identification
- TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION: DC 9–28V, 2A max current, normally open contact switch
- INSTALLATION GUIDE INCLUDED: Supplied with two keys, screws and wall anchors for setup
| Configuration | What the manual describes |
|---|---|
| Selective signaling, single channel | Notifies occupants on the floor of fire origin, according to the addendum. |
| Selective signaling, dual channel | The addendum describes notification to all building occupants and says a second amplifier is required. |
| General alarm voice evacuation | Provides general voice evacuation signaling. |
| Two-way telephone communications | Adds two-way telephone communications to the system. |
| Manually controlled process monitoring | Allows process monitoring to be controlled manually. |
The manual’s descriptions do not determine which configuration a building needs. That depends on the actual system design, installed equipment, and applicable requirements; this archival documentation alone cannot establish compliance.
Amplifier modules and speaker families
The addendum identifies the FCI-AAM-25 Audio Amplifier Module as a 25-watt, 25 VRMS amplifier. The FCI-MB motherboard controls and supervises the amplifiers and can house one or two AAM-25 modules. The manual describes a second module as usable for backup or additional output; dual-channel configurations require a second amplifier.
Recommended Free Tools
The manual names the SP, TV, UDT, and UHT Series as listed, FCI-approved speaker families for broadcasting alarm tones, recorded messages, and voice instructions. These names identify equipment in the historical documentation; they do not establish compatibility with arbitrary speakers or current substitutes.
The 1998 product sheet also describes a distributed-amplification option using a Bulk Amplification Unit (BAU) and Audio Driver Card (ADC), with PA-120R 120-watt or PA-250R 250-watt amplifiers. It states that up to six such amplifiers could be used. These are period specifications, not a recommendation for a present installation.

Historical specifications and their limits
The following figures come from documents published in 1997 or 1998. They identify what those documents stated, not the condition, configuration, approval status, or capabilities of any panel in service today.
| Figure | Document and scope |
|---|---|
| 25 watts at 25 VRMS | 1998 FireVac addendum, FCI-AAM-25 module. |
| 120 watts and 250 watts; up to six amplifiers | 1998 FireVac product sheet, PA-120R/PA-250R with BAU and ADC option. |
| 24 VDC nominal operating voltage; 32–120 °F (0–49 °C) | 1998 FireVac product sheet. |
| 500-event history log; power supply for sealed lead-acid batteries up to 55 amp-hours | 1997 7200 Series control data sheet; figures describe the control data sheet, not necessarily every FireVac configuration. |
The FireVac and 7200 data sheets state that specifications are informational and may change without notice. The 1997 and 1998 product documents do not establish current product availability, manufacturer support, validity of historical listings, or acceptance by a present-day jurisdiction.

Safety and use of the wiring information
The addendum is intended for factory-trained installers and operators and says not to install, service, or operate the panel until the manual has been read and understood. It also instructs users to disconnect all sources of power before servicing or inserting or removing circuit boards, and warns that external power must not be connected to the panel’s power-limited circuits.
Because this is life-safety equipment, the historical manual should be used to identify the system and understand its documented parts—not as a basis for improvised field wiring, component substitution, or a claim that an installation complies with current requirements. The addendum’s wiring and configuration details are specific to the equipment and intended for trained users.
