If your Eureka RapidClean Pro will not start, has weak suction, or stops unexpectedly, begin with the simple checks below: verify the power and charger connections, empty the dust cup, clear airflow blockages, and clean the filters. These instructions are grounded in Eureka’s U.S. manual for the NEC180. Check the model label on your vacuum first, because “RapidClean Pro” covers multiple models.
Before troubleshooting: check the model and make the vacuum safe
Find the model number on the vacuum’s label before following model-specific instructions or ordering parts. This guide uses the NEC180 manual; advice or components for another RapidClean Pro variant may differ.
Before maintenance, follow the manual’s safety instruction: “Make sure vacuum cleaner is off and charging plug is unplugged.”
If the vacuum will not start or shuts off
Check power and connections
- Make sure the vacuum is switched on.
- Push the charger securely into the electrical outlet and try another outlet if needed.
- Check whether the circuit breaker has tripped.
For a sudden shutoff, check for overheating
A full dust cup, blocked wand, or clogged filters can contribute to overheating. Check for these issues and correct any you find. Then wait at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button again. If the vacuum still does not work, the manual directs users to Eureka customer service at 1-800-282-2886.

If the charging lights do not come on
Confirm that the charger is firmly connected to the outlet and that the charging plug is fully inserted into the handle. According to the manual, the indicator lights stop blinking when the vacuum is fully charged.
If suction is weak
Work through the likely causes in this order:
- Empty the dust cup.
- Clean the filters, or replace them if needed, following the manual’s instructions.
- Charge the battery.
- Check the wand and other airflow paths for clogs, then remove any blockage.
Eureka lists washable foam filters for the NEC180 on its product page. If shopping for NEC180 replacement filters, verify the model number and compatibility against Eureka’s official parts information; the available materials do not establish a specific filter part number.

If runtime is too short
Make sure the vacuum is properly powered and charge the battery for up to six hours before use, as the NEC180 manual advises. Runtime alone does not establish that the battery has failed: the available manual information gives no battery-health test or replacement threshold.
If the brushroll will not turn
Switch the vacuum off and unplug the charging plug before inspecting it. Check the brushroll for debris and clean it according to the manual’s maintenance instructions. The NEC180 troubleshooting entry does not call for belt replacement, so do not assume generic belt advice for another vacuum applies.

Check compatibility before buying parts
RapidClean Pro is used for more than one model. Confirm the model label before ordering a filter, battery, charger, or brushroll assembly, and check Eureka’s support page for its manuals and parts/accessories route. The available information does not confirm a particular compatible replacement part number.
