É possível trocar uma rodinha em casa quando o conjunto é acessível e fixado por parafusos, mas o método depende da construção e do modelo da mala. Antes de desmontar, limpe e inspecione a roda, identifique a peça correta e consulte a garantia. Rodas de malas não são necessariamente universais.
Antes de trocar: confira se a roda realmente precisa ser substituída
Coloque a mala sobre uma superfície plana e firme e examine a roda. Remova fios, sujeira ou outros detritos que possam impedir o giro. Se a limpeza resolver o problema, não há motivo para desmontar o conjunto.
Se a roda estiver rachada, deformada ou continuar sem girar, identifique a mala pela etiqueta ou pelo código do produto. Anote também a posição da roda. A American Tourister orienta informar se ela fica na dianteira ou traseira e à esquerda ou à direita, considerando a mala com o logotipo voltado para você. Consulte a orientação da marca em peças de reposição da American Tourister.
Como encontrar uma roda compatível
Não escolha a peça apenas pelo diâmetro aparente. Confirme o código do produto, a coleção ou o modelo e a posição do conjunto. A American Tourister informa que suas peças são específicas de cada coleção, não universais; a Samsonite também orienta a identificar a peça adequada ao produto antes do pedido. Consulte a orientação da American Tourister sobre peças e a página de peças de reposição da Samsonite.

Observe ainda se a peça original é uma roda avulsa ou um conjunto completo. Compare o formato e os pontos de fixação com a peça correta para o modelo; uma roda que parece semelhante pode não encaixar no suporte ou na posição necessária.
Como trocar uma roda presa por parafusos
O passo a passo abaixo vale para conjuntos retidos por parafusos e com acesso possível. A posição dos parafusos e a forma de chegar até eles variam. Não force o forro ou o suporte se a construção da mala não corresponder às instruções do fabricante.

- Confira a garantia e o método de reparo. Antes de abrir o forro ou modificar a mala, consulte as condições aplicáveis ao seu produto e país.
- Prepare a mala. Esvazie-a e apoie-a sobre uma superfície firme, com a roda acessível. Se ainda não fez isso, limpe e examine o conjunto.
- Acesse os parafusos conforme o modelo. No tutorial da DELSEY para o conjunto ilustrado, é preciso abrir o forro para alcançar os parafusos de retenção. Esse arranjo não é regra para todas as malas. Siga o tutorial ou as instruções de reparo da DELSEY aplicáveis à sua peça.
- Retire e substitua a roda. Remova os parafusos de retenção, retire o conjunto pelo lado indicado nas instruções e instale a peça compatível, alinhando os pontos de fixação.
- Recoloque e aperte os parafusos. Feche o acesso ao forro somente depois de confirmar que a montagem está correta. Se o fabricante oferecer um vídeo ou instruções para o código específico, use-os: a Samsonite informa que a confirmação de um pedido de reposição pode incluir um link com instruções passo a passo.
- Verifique a montagem antes de viajar. Com a mala em uma superfície plana, mova-a e confira se a roda gira e se o conjunto está firme. Se ficar frouxo, preso ou desalinhado, pare de usar a mala e procure assistência.
Ferramentas: use as indicadas para a sua mala
A ferramenta depende dos parafusos e do desenho do conjunto. A Samsonite UK afirma que a maioria dos reparos em seus produtos pode ser feita com uma chave Torx simples e que as peças enviadas pela marca incluem a ferramenta e os parafusos necessários. Não tente adaptar uma ferramenta nem force parafusos ou rebites. Se não houver parafusos acessíveis, se a fixação parecer rebitada ou se for necessário desmontar uma parte extensa da mala, interrompa o serviço doméstico e consulte o fabricante ou um reparador.
