Commencez par un chiffon doux et de l’eau chaude savonneuse, puis séchez soigneusement. Si la surface reste collante, essayez un peu d’alcool isopropylique sur une zone cachée avant de traiter le reste. Un plastique collant peut aussi signaler la dégradation d’un revêtement souple : dans ce cas, le nettoyage ne restaurera pas forcément la finition d’origine.
Pourquoi le plastique devient-il collant ?
La sensation poisseuse peut venir de saletés ou d’un résidu déposé sur la surface. Elle peut aussi être due à un revêtement soft-touch qui se dégrade avec le temps, comme le décrit iFixit France. Sans connaître l’objet, son matériau et son traitement de surface, il est impossible de déterminer la cause avec certitude.
Si le film collant est uniforme et persiste après un nettoyage doux, il peut s’agir du revêtement lui-même plutôt que d’une simple salissure. Le retirer peut supprimer le fini d’origine et laisser une surface différente.
Comment nettoyer le plastique collant étape par étape
- Vérifiez les consignes du fabricant. Suivez-les lorsqu’elles existent. L’American Cleaning Institute recommande des nettoyants non abrasifs adaptés au plastique.
- Nettoyez doucement. Si l’objet supporte l’eau, passez un chiffon doux imbibé d’eau chaude savonneuse sur la surface, puis séchez-la soigneusement. Évitez cette méthode si du liquide risque d’atteindre des composants électroniques.
- Faites un essai local à l’alcool isopropylique. Si le collant reste, appliquez une petite quantité sur un chiffon et testez d’abord une zone peu visible. iFixit conseille de vérifier que le produit contient uniquement de l’alcool isopropylique et de l’eau. Essuyez sans laisser le liquide couler et arrêtez si la surface se décolore, devient terne ou si des inscriptions s’effacent.
- Envisagez le retrait du revêtement seulement en dernier recours. iFixit décrit le grattage prudent d’un revêtement dégradé sur un appareil démonté, avec un grattoir en plastique, puis le nettoyage du résidu. Ce n’est pas une procédure universelle : ne démontez un appareil que si vous savez le faire sans danger, et attendez-vous à une finition différente.

Produits et gestes à éviter
- Acétone : iFixit avertit qu’elle peut endommager les plastiques ABS; ne l’utilisez pas comme nettoyant universel.
- Diluant pour laque et réducteur : 3M indique qu’ils ne sont pas recommandés dans le contexte du nettoyage de pièces en plastique avant réparation. Pour une réparation, suivez les consignes du fabricant de l’adhésif : 3M Tech Talk.
- Produits ammoniaqués, abrasifs et frottage appuyé : certains peuvent endommager ou marquer le plastique, selon l’American Cleaning Institute.
- Excès de liquide sur un appareil : ne laissez pas de produit couler dans les composants électroniques. Si nécessaire, ne nettoyez que le boîtier isolé, et ne le démontez que si vous maîtrisez cette opération.
Avec un solvant, travaillez dans un endroit aéré, évitez d’inhaler les vapeurs, portez des gants et manipulez les chiffons imbibés avec précaution, conformément aux conseils d’iFixit.
