The right reusable K-Cup-style filter depends on your brewer’s exact make and model. Keurig’s My K-Cup is listed for most Keurig home brewers, with named exclusions; Cuisinart sells a separate HomeBarista cup for specific Cuisinart models. Neither product is a universal adapter proven to fit every brand or brewer.
What a “K-Cup adapter” is—and what “universal” means
For brewing your own ground coffee in a compatible single-serve machine, the product you need is usually called a reusable filter cup or basket. It takes the place of a disposable pod; it does not necessarily adapt one brand’s brewer to another brand’s accessories.
“Universal” is a product name or manufacturer claim, not proof of cross-brand or every-generation compatibility. A brewer’s ability to accept K-Cup pods also does not establish that a particular reusable cup will fit.
Which reusable filter matches your brewer?
| Brewer | Manufacturer-listed filter | Compatibility guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Most Keurig home brewers | Keurig My K-Cup reusable filter | Keurig’s current US product page says it fits most Keurig coffee makers, but excludes commercial, K-Crema, and Keurig 2.0 brewers. Check the page and your exact model before buying. |
| Listed Cuisinart single-serve models | Cuisinart HomeBarista Reusable Filter Cup (SS-RFC) | Cuisinart publishes compatible model numbers on the product page. Match your brewer’s model number against that list. |
| Older Keurig models or models in Canada | Check the current regional accessory guidance | Keurig Canada describes a universal filter as well as grey Classic-series and black PLUS-series filter versions. Confirm which version and any required adapter piece apply to your brewer. |
| Other brands or unlisted models | No fit established by the evidence here | Do not infer fit from K-Cup pod acceptance or the word “universal”; look for a compatibility listing from the brewer or filter manufacturer. |
Keurig My K-Cup: check the exclusions and model guidance
Keurig’s US product page describes My K-Cup as compatible with most Keurig coffee makers, while naming commercial, K-Crema, and Keurig 2.0 brewers as incompatible. The same page’s opening description specifically includes the K-Brew+Chill, so its wording is not a simple blanket rule for every brewer. Verify your exact model against the current product information. Keurig Support also lists My K-Cup Universal as an accessory for the K-Supreme in an article published April 1, 2026.

Keurig calls My K-Cup “the only reusable coffee filter designed by Keurig® and approved for use on Keurig® coffee makers” and says it is intended for ground coffee. The product page specifies that the filter is BPA-free and top-rack dishwasher-safe; hand-washing with soap and warm water is another option. These are manufacturer statements, not independent comparative test results.
How to use and clean it
- Fill the filter with ground coffee and close it securely.
- Place it in the brewer’s pod holder and lower the handle.
- Select a brew size and start the brew cycle.
- After use, clean it on the dishwasher’s top rack or wash it by hand with soap and warm water, following Keurig’s directions.
Cuisinart HomeBarista: use the SS-RFC model list
The HomeBarista SS-RFC is Cuisinart’s separate reusable filter cup, with compatible brewer models listed on its product page. For a Cuisinart machine, check the model number there rather than assuming Keurig My K-Cup fits.

- BREW WITH GROUND COFFEE: Brew a single cup using your own favorite ground coffee
Cuisinart’s SS-10P1 product page illustrates the distinction between pods and reusable filters: it says the brewer accepts single-cup pods, including Keurig K-Cup pods, and comes equipped with the HomeBarista reusable filter cup. Pod compatibility and reusable-cup fit are related, but they are separate specifications.
How to verify fit before ordering
- Find the full brewer model number. Check its label or the brewer’s documentation; a family name alone may not distinguish versions.
- Use the manufacturer’s accessory page for your region. Compare the exact model against the published compatibility information for the filter.
- Check generation-specific instructions. This matters especially for older Keurig machines and regional accessories; follow any stated filter version or adapter-piece requirement.
- Do not treat “K-Cup compatible” as a reusable-filter guarantee. Confirm that the manufacturer names the reusable cup for your brewer.
- If your model is not listed, seek confirmation before buying. A third-party claim of universal fit is not a substitute for model-specific evidence.
What the available evidence can—and cannot—tell you
Manufacturer compatibility information supports choosing between My K-Cup and the Cuisinart HomeBarista for their listed machines. It does not establish a performance winner among reusable filters. Independent model-by-model comparisons of taste, leakage, durability, and ease of use are not established here, so those qualities should not be ranked as tested facts.

- Durable and Dishwasher Safe: Made of 304 stainless steel mesh with BPA-free PP shell. Ensure complete safety while boasting a durable design that can be reused over time.
- Makes A Great Cup of Coffee: Side filtration instead of bottom filtration enhances the brewing intensity of coffee. Effective filtration technology extracts more flavor and aroma every time you brew. Also works well with paper filters and can be used in combination to reduce cleaning time.
- Economical and Save Money: Millions of disposable K Cups are created every year, which is extremely harmful to the environment. Now you can brew your favorite ground coffee using these reusable coffee pods for Keurig.
- Widely Tested for Compatibility: The reusable k cup coffee filters (coffee pods) work with Keurig K-Elite, K-Classic, K-iced, K-Duo, K-Compact, K-Latte, K-Slim (1-Stream), K-Café (1-Stream), K-Select and all Keurig 2.0 & 1.0 coffee machines. They are also fit for Hamilton Beach K Cup, Breville K Cup, Mr. Coffee K Cup, and Cuisinart K cup.
- Note:** Not compatible with Multi-Stream Brewers: K-Supreme, K-Slim, K-Café, K-Brew+Chill, K-Duo Hot & Iced. The filter is only compatible with single-stream coffee machines (equipped with one water injection needle). Using this product on incompatible machines may result in the lid failing to close properly.
For current compatibility details, consult Keurig’s My K-Cup product page, Keurig Support’s K-Supreme accessories listing, Keurig Canada’s accessories information, Cuisinart’s SS-RFC product page, and Cuisinart’s SS-10P1 product page.
