LG’s U.S. top-load lineup includes both central-agitator and impeller washers, with advertised capacities up to 5.5 cu. ft. The right choice depends on the exact model’s wash action, capacity, features, and fit—not on a universal “best” label. One concrete option to compare is the LG WT7480CL, which LG lists with a 5.5 cu. ft. capacity, an impeller, TurboWash 3D, and Water Plus. Those are manufacturer specifications, not proof that it outperforms other washers.
Which LG top-load washer should you choose?
Start with how you do laundry and what you need the washer to fit. LG describes both agitator and impeller designs in its U.S. top-load washer lineup. Compare the mechanism, capacity, and specific options on the model page, then confirm that the machine fits the installation space. A larger capacity or a longer feature list does not by itself establish better cleaning or reliability.
Agitator or impeller: which wash action fits your needs?
Central agitator
An agitator washer uses a post in the center of the tub. Consider this configuration if you prefer that traditional wash mechanism; check the individual model’s capacity and options rather than assuming all LG agitator models are alike.
Impeller
