The current official ST 227 listing describes a 27-inch working width, 23-inch intake height and 7.8 hp rating for its listed current configuration. Do not use those current figures as a direct 2019 comparison unless the exact model code and model year match.
When a single-stage model may fit better
The 2019 catalog also lists the ST 111, ST 131 and ST 151 as smaller single-stage machines with 21-inch working widths.
