Published examples range from a compact 5-inch IMUSA basket to fine-mesh options listed at 10, 11, and 12 inches by Attinson. Katom’s catalog also lists multiple basket sizes. A smaller basket may suit smaller portions or a tighter pot; a larger basket can accommodate more food, but the sources do not establish a tested capacity advantage. Check the basket against your cookware and typical portion size before buying.
Check the handle length and storage space
Katom lists handle lengths from about 9 inches to 14½ inches among its bamboo-handled options; other listed designs are longer. Compare a model’s stated handle length with the depth and width of your pot or wok, the reach you want, and your storage space. Length alone does not establish a particular safety benefit.

Verify the materials for the exact model
“Bamboo skimmer” is not a standardized description of the whole utensil. IMUSA identifies stainless-steel mesh with a bamboo handle on its 5-inch PAN-10053W model. Other listings describe a combination of metal and bamboo or do not specify the mesh alloy. Do not assume every basket is stainless steel: confirm both handle and basket materials on the product page.
