A microwave pressure cooker is a purpose-built vessel for cooking under pressure in a microwave—not a countertop electric pressure cooker or an ordinary microwave steamer. Tupperware’s model is the clearest specification-backed match in the available product information, but its official listing showed it sold out. Prestige lists two models, but its PMPC 3 page gives conflicting capacity figures and both Prestige listings showed out-of-stock status. Check exact-model stock, regional compatibility and the manual before buying.
Which microwave pressure cookers are documented?
The official product information supports a narrow comparison, not a tested ranking. The details below reflect manufacturer listings, which showed the availability status at the time they were accessed; stock and prices can change.
| Model | Published details | Listing status | What to watch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tupperware Microwave Pressure Cooker (10117959000) | 3 L base, up to 2 L cooking capacity; microwave-safe polypropylene and silicone; manufacturer describes five integrated safety components. The listing showed a price of $159. | Sold out on Tupperware’s official listing. | Most complete specifications in the available information. Confirm local stock and the model offered in your region. |
| Prestige PMPC 3 | Prestige’s product title says 2.5 L, but its detail field says 1 L. The listing identifies plastic construction and a two-year warranty. | Out of stock on Prestige’s official listing. | Capacity is internally inconsistent; ask the manufacturer or seller to confirm the exact model’s usable capacity. |
| Prestige Microchef PMPC 4.0 | Named in Prestige’s official catalog; the catalog information available here does not provide enough detail for a full comparison. | Out of stock on Prestige’s official listing. | Get the model-specific capacity, safety instructions, warranty and dimensions before comparing it with other cookers. |
For the Tupperware cooker, Tupperware’s product page says microwave energy builds pressure and reports a maximum cooking temperature of 233°F/112°C. That is the manufacturer’s specification, not an independent measurement or a comparative performance result. The same page describes pressure-regulation and indicator valves, a silicone gasket with an overpressure release system, a bayonet locking system and a safety closing handle. These are manufacturer-described design features, not independent safety certification.
Prestige’s PMPC 3 listing contains the conflicting capacity figures. Its catalog listing names the PMPC 4.0 and PMPC 3, but does not establish enough specifications here to assess the PMPC 4.0 fully.

How to choose one that fits your kitchen
Start with a product explicitly made for microwave use. A conventional electric pressure cooker is a separate countertop appliance; a microwave steamer does not become a pressure cooker just because it is used in a microwave. Do not treat either as an equivalent substitute.
- Confirm usable capacity. Vessel or base volume is not necessarily the amount of food it can safely cook. Tupperware lists a 3 L base and up to 2 L cooking capacity. For the Prestige PMPC 3, resolve the listing’s 2.5 L versus 1 L discrepancy before relying on either number.
- Check microwave fit. Compare the cooker’s external dimensions with the microwave’s interior, including clearance for the turntable and room to handle the lid. The Tupperware listing gives dimensions; check the exact regional product listing and your microwave’s internal measurements before purchase.
- Read the exact model’s safety and operating instructions. Look for how the lid locks, how pressure is regulated and released, how the pressure indicator works, and what the manual says about opening and reuse.
- Compare limits and care requirements. Check minimum liquid, maximum cooking time, cleaning directions and whether the cooker must cool before another use. Do not transfer one brand’s instructions to another model.
- Verify price, stock and warranty locally. The official listings cited here showed Tupperware sold out and Prestige out of stock; the Tupperware page listed $159. These are listing snapshots, not a guarantee of current availability or price. Confirm warranty terms for the country and exact model being sold.
Using the Tupperware cooker: the model-specific limits
Tupperware’s product information and manual provide specific operating constraints for its Microwave Pressure Cooker. They are not general rules for every microwave pressure cooker. Follow the manual supplied with your exact model if it differs.

No independent test results are available here to establish which model cooks fastest, performs most evenly, lasts longest or is safest in practice. On specifications alone, the Tupperware cooker is the most assessable exact-category option because its published capacity, materials and operating limits are clearer. That makes it a specification-based pick, not a tested winner or a current buy recommendation: its official page showed it sold out.
