For a gas backpack blower with the highest manufacturer-listed blowing force in this comparison, Husqvarna lists the 590BTS at 56 N. That figure does not make it a universal winner: ECHO’s PB-9010T lists greater air volume, while the STIHL BR 800 C-E MAGNUM lists the highest maximum airspeed. These are manufacturer specifications, not results from a shared independent test, so the right choice depends on the debris, work duration, controls, service access and local availability.
How the four models compare
The figures below come from current manufacturer pages accessed October 8, 2026. They are not directly comparable test results: manufacturers may use different measurement methods and conditions. Confirm the exact model and configuration before purchase.
| Model | Manufacturer-listed performance | Weight and fuel | Notable details |
|---|---|---|---|
| ECHO PB-9010T | 48.9 N blowing force; 1,907 m³/h air volume; 97.8 m/s maximum air speed | 12.4 kg dry; 2.56 L tank | 79.9 cm³ two-stroke engine; 4.2 kW; 105.8 dB(A) sound pressure. ECHO describes it as its most powerful blower and positions it for professional, heavy-duty work. ECHO specifications |
| Husqvarna 590BTS | 56 N blowing force; 1,245 CFM; 216 mph | 26.2 lb dry; 91.3 fl oz tank | 79.4 cc engine. BTS has a tube-mounted right-hand throttle; the 590BFS has a frame-mounted left-hand throttle. Husqvarna specifications |
| Husqvarna 580BTS | 47 N maximum force; 1,000 CFM at round nozzle; 220 mph | 26.8 lb; 87.92 fl oz tank | 75.6 cm³; 4.6 hp. The page listed an MSRP of $649.99 when accessed; price can change. Husqvarna specifications |
| STIHL BR 800 C-E MAGNUM | 41 N with round nozzle; 239 mph maximum air velocity with round nozzle | 25.9 lb | 4.9 in³ displacement; side-starting and adjustable tube. STIHL calls it the most powerful gas backpack blower in its range. The U.S. page says it is unavailable for purchase or delivery in California. STIHL specifications and availability |
What CFM, airspeed and Newtons tell you
Blowing force
Newtons (N) express force. Of these four published figures, Husqvarna lists the 590BTS highest at 56 N. A higher listed number can be useful when comparing manufacturer specifications, but it does not establish how a blower will perform in a particular job or against models measured under different conditions.
Air volume
Air volume is reported here as CFM or cubic metres per hour. ECHO lists 1,907 m³/h for the PB-9010T; Husqvarna lists 1,245 CFM for the 590BTS and 1,000 CFM at the round nozzle for the 580BTS. Keep the original units in view rather than treating conversions as proof of a common test.

STIHL lists 239 mph for the BR 800 C-E MAGNUM, while Husqvarna lists 220 mph for the 580BTS and 216 mph for the 590BTS. ECHO lists 97.8 m/s for its PB-9010T. No single peak metric captures how well a machine suits every type of debris or site.
Which model may fit your work?
Choose the ECHO PB-9010T if air volume and force are priorities
ECHO’s published combination of 48.9 N and 1,907 m³/h makes this a candidate for users focused on both force and high listed air volume. Consider its 12.4 kg dry weight and 105.8 dB(A) sound-pressure figure when evaluating long work sessions; those figures make weight and hearing protection important parts of the decision, not afterthoughts.
Rank #2

- Low-Noise Power, Built On Experience: A low-noise design with a stated 71 dB sound level adds a more considered operating profile. Backed by more than 20 years of HTK outdoor-power experience, the HTK 650 brings power, control, and operator-focused features together
Choose the Husqvarna 590BTS if the listed force leads your comparison
Its 56 N specification is the highest force figure among these models. Check the control arrangement: the BTS has a tube-mounted right-hand throttle, whereas the BFS version uses a frame-mounted left-hand throttle. Confirm that the precise variant and control placement suit the operator.
Consider the Husqvarna 580BTS as a high-output alternative
The current product page lists 47 N, 1,000 CFM at the round nozzle and 220 mph. A Husqvarna support listing describes a separate article/configuration at 40 N and 25.8 lb, rather than the current product-page values of 47 N and 26.8 lb. Do not combine those specifications; verify the product number on the actual unit and listing. Husqvarna support listings

What to check before buying
A peak force, volume or speed figure is only one part of a backpack blower purchase. Compare the factors that affect real work and ownership:

- Weight and job duration: compare dry weight and consider how long the operator will carry the machine. The quoted weights are dry, not operating weights with fuel.
- Noise: only the ECHO figure above provides a sound-pressure value in this comparison. Do not infer that the other machines are quieter; consult each model’s official specifications and manual.
- Controls and harness: check throttle location, fit, adjustment and any vibration or comfort features on the exact configuration.
- Fuel and starting: compare tank capacity, fuel requirements and starting features in the current product information and operator manual.
- Service and warranty: confirm local dealer support, warranty terms and parts availability for the model and region.
- Rules and stock: check local sale and use restrictions, current inventory, product revisions and pricing at purchase time.
Safe operation and model-specific instructions
Read and follow the operator manual for the exact model before fueling, starting, inspecting or maintaining the blower. STIHL’s BR 800 page recommends fuel with no more than 10% ethanol and warns that higher ethanol content may damage equipment and may void the warranty; verify fuel requirements in the manual for the specific machine. Use the manufacturer’s instructions for protective equipment and operating practices rather than assuming one rule applies to every model or jurisdiction.
