What “Frigidaire ice maker” means
An ice maker kit for a refrigerator is an add-on installed in a compatible appliance. It is a different product from a portable countertop ice maker. The Frigidaire product information cited here supports refrigerator-installed kits, but does not establish a current official lineup of standalone countertop or nugget ice makers. For that reason, this guide compares compatible refrigerator configurations rather than ranking portable machines.
Refrigerator capacity is not ice production. For example, the 16.03 cu. ft. and 17.6 cu. ft. figures below describe the total storage capacity of two refrigerators, not their ice bins or output.

Standard-depth and counter-depth describe refrigerator cabinet depth, not kit quality. The kit number alone does not establish fit, and a product that looks similar may not be compatible with your appliance.

Water filters and maintenance
Filter compatibility depends on the refrigerator’s documented water-filtration system. Frigidaire and Electrolux list a 200-gallon capacity for the specified PureSource Ultra/ULTRAWF filter system; this is not a universal replacement interval for Frigidaire ice makers. The performance sheet says results may vary with water conditions and pressure, and high-sediment areas may require more frequent replacement. Choosing without guessing
- For a compatible top-mount refrigerator, begin with the IM117000 page.
- For a French-door bottom-mount refrigerator, determine whether it is standard-depth or counter-depth, then check FIB28A or IMKFD23A respectively.
- Do not use refrigerator cubic feet, appearance, or a kit number by itself to infer ice output or fit.
