The right choice depends on how you want to cook, not just the product label. Food Network Kitchen’s review assessed electric and stovetop products separately, considering heat, release, browning, flipping, handling, cleaning, and storage.

Food Network Kitchen reported that its Chefman electric pick heated evenly and gently and produced very thin crepes; the review described it as beginner-friendly because it avoids balancing stovetop heat. Those are the publisher’s findings, not an independent confirmation.

Food Network Kitchen described the tested Le Creuset nonstick pan’s cooking surface as just over 10 inches and the tested Cuisinart pan’s surface as just over 8½ inches. These are reported usable cooking-surface measurements for the tested products, not interchangeable nominal product dimensions. Check the exact model’s cooking area before buying.

Food Network Kitchen’s guidance is that nonstick can be easier for beginners and occasional crepe cooks, especially when easy release matters. The coating and care instructions are specific to each product: follow the manufacturer’s directions rather than assuming all nonstick pans tolerate the same utensils, heat, or cleaning method.

Carbon steel
Carbon steel can develop seasoning and naturally nonstick performance through use. Cast iron

Model-specific details worth verifying
Cuisinart Chef’s Classic 623C-24
Cuisinart’s official page identifies the 623C-24 as a 10-inch crepe pan with a hard-anodized exterior and PFAS-free PURELYCERAMIC nonstick interior. The manufacturer lists it as oven-safe to 500°F, recommends hand-washing, and states a lifetime warranty. The 10-inch nominal product size is not the same measure as Food Network Kitchen’s just-over-8½-inch cooking surface for the Cuisinart pan it tested; verify that the model matches before comparing dimensions. NutriChef PCRM12
NutriChef Canada lists the PCRM12 as an electric model with a 12-inch nonstick aluminum cooking surface, adjustable rotary temperature dial, 1000 W rating, 120 V AC input, LED indicators, and an included crepe spreader. Its Canadian page showed “Sold out” when accessed; stock can change, and that listing does not establish availability in other regions. Confirm voltage compatibility and current local availability. Food Network Kitchen says it researched the market and ordered 10 products representing nonstick, cast iron, carbon steel, and electric categories. The team reviewed included instructions, recorded dimensions, weight, ergonomics, and accessories, then cooked multiple rounds of crepes and at least five pancakes per pan.
