What is Amazon building in Bellevue?
Bellevue 600 is a planned two-building office development spanning 110th Avenue NE to 108th Avenue NE in downtown Bellevue. Amazon said the site was intended to accommodate more than 7,000 employees across both buildings. Its later Phase 2 design announcement describes the second tower as 31 stories, with office space, meeting rooms and informal gathering areas. What would the second tower and site include?
Retail and community-facing spaces
Amazon’s Phase 2 proposal includes more than 14,000 square feet of street-level retail, an 8,000-square-foot ground-floor retail and exhibition space, a locally operated coffee bar, public art and a new daycare center. These are proposal details; the announcement does not establish that the spaces are open or operating.
Garden and pedestrian route
The design calls for a 16-foot-wide, ADA-accessible route through an outdoor plaza and garden. Amazon said the garden would contain more than 40 varieties of native plants. The path and planting are planned site features, not verified completed amenities.

Transit, bikes and parking
The site is next to the Bellevue Transit Center and Link light-rail station. Amazon’s plans also describe an elevated bike path, nearly 1,000 bicycle-storage stalls and more than 1,700 underground parking spaces. These figures and features are company-stated design commitments; they should not be read as completed facilities.
Energy and environmental commitments
Amazon said both buildings would pursue LEED Gold and Salmon Safe certifications, operate fully on electricity without natural-gas or fossil-fuel utility service, and capture graywater. These are commitments described in the proposal, not independently verified certifications or operating results.

Why do reports give different story counts?
Amazon’s announcements describe different versions of Phase 2. The earlier expansion plan gave the tower a 27-story height and projected completion in 2025. A later published design proposal called it 31 stories. The 2025 date is an earlier forecast, not evidence of a completed tower or a current delivery schedule. Is Amazon still building the second Bellevue 600 tower?
The available project-specific official information cited here does not verify whether Phase 2 has a current permit, whether construction has begun or resumed, or whether it has a revised delivery date. Amazon’s announcement that it submitted a design is not proof that a permit was issued or construction was authorized. Bellevue says its permitting process reviews plans for code alignment and may require revisions before permit issuance; that general process does not establish this project’s status.
