Drake’s best-documented current home base is The Embassy, his custom-built estate in Toronto’s Bridle Path. His other notable residences include a rented Forest Hill home from his teenage years, the Hidden Hills compound known as the YOLO Estate—which sold in 2022—and a Beverly Hills Post Office estate that was still reported unsold and listed in May 2026. Published accounts document these major homes, not every place he has ever lived.

Where did Drake live as a teenager?
Drake and his mother rented the first floor and basement of a house in Toronto’s Forest Hill area. GQ’s July 2013 profile describes the arrangement, while a Degrassi: Unscripted clip discussed by Complex shows Drake touring his mother’s home and the basement room where he lived as a teenager. This was a rented portion of a house, not a property he owned. GQ’s profile and Complex’s account of the clip identify the neighborhood and context without establishing an exact address.

What was the YOLO Estate?
The YOLO Estate was Drake’s Hidden Hills property in California, acquired in 2012 and expanded with two neighboring houses into a three-property compound. Realtor.com reported the original purchase at $7.7 million. Its 2022 account described the main house as a 12,500-square-foot English Tudor residence on three acres, with a pool, spa grotto, swim-up bar, waterfalls and rock waterslide. The same report listed a theater, game room, massage room, wine cellar, equestrian facilities, tennis courts, volleyball court and mechanical bull; those are reported features, not a first-hand inspection here. Realtor.com’s 2022 sale report details the compound and its amenities.
The sale took place in two parts: Matthew Stafford reportedly bought the two adjacent homes for $11 million in April 2022, and the YOLO mansion sold for $12 million in June. Realtor.com put the combined reported sale total at $23 million. These are historical transaction figures, not current valuations. Velvet Ropes dates Drake’s time at the compound to 2012–2022. Its residence timeline provides that broader chronology.

What is The Embassy in Toronto?
The Embassy is Drake’s custom-built Toronto home in the Bridle Path neighborhood. Architectural Digest reported in April 2020 that it measures 50,000 square feet and was designed by Canadian architect and interior designer Ferris Rafauli. The publication described the architecture as a contemporary interpretation of Beaux-Arts, with “modern Art Deco” interiors and materials including limestone, bronze and exotic woods. The May 2020 issue featured the home on its cover. Architectural Digest’s feature documents the completed residence and design.
Scale and design
Architectural Digest reported a 44-foot-high great room, a regulation-size indoor basketball court, an indoor pool and a custom Bösendorfer grand piano. The interior is extensively bespoke rather than a standard luxury-home fit-out. Drake told the magazine, “Because I was building it in my hometown, I wanted the structure to stand firm for 100 years. I wanted it to have a monumental scale and feel.” Rafauli described the exterior as a limestone mansion with cleaner, more minimal profiles than a traditional 19th-century example. The feature and interview attribute those design details and quotations.

How the plans became a house
Planning history is separate from measurements reported after construction. Velvet Ropes says Drake’s plans went before a North York committee in May 2016 and received unanimous approval on May 26 after zoning exceptions. Its account describes a planned height of 17 metres and a 44-by-94-foot basement basketball court. Architectural Digest’s 2020 figures describe the completed home; the planning dimensions should not be treated as a replacement for, or confirmation of, those later published measurements. Velvet Ropes’ timeline recounts the approval process.
What happened to Drake’s Beverly Hills estate?
Drake acquired the estate above Benedict Canyon in spring 2022 through an entity Velvet Ropes identifies as 11Kip, LLC. It has a Beverly Hills postal address but is within the City of Los Angeles, according to the same account. The house was built in 2001 for Guess co-founder Armand Marciano and later belonged to Robbie Williams.

As of May 2026, the estate was reported unsold and asking $79 million on Zillow, a status relayed in the outlet’s September 2026 update. Listing prices and availability can change; these figures describe the reported history, not a current offer or appraisal. The updated timeline recounts the listing history and cites Yahoo Finance for the May 2026 status.

Does this cover every house Drake has called home?
No complete public inventory is established. Published reporting supports these major residences and their broad chronology, but it does not prove that Drake never occupied other temporary, childhood or privately held homes. Exact private addresses are not needed to understand the distinction between his teenage rental, his sold California compound, his Toronto home and the separately listed Los Angeles-area estate.
