The headline-making $29 million figure was its initial asking price in September 2022—not a reported sale price or a verified current valuation. Coverage published in 2026 reported a later ask of $18.99 million after several listing changes.
What Alec Baldwin’s Amagansett home looks like
Realtor.com’s March 2025 feature described the property as an eight-acre estate with a 10,000-square-foot farmhouse. Those are published figures, not independently verified measurements. The home has been presented as a family retreat rather than simply a showpiece: in an on-camera clip from The Baldwins, Alec described it as “our vacation home, second home, pool” and said, “It’s a big house, and it works great.” Realtor.com’s 2025 feature reported that description.
Coverage of the interiors and grounds describes a mix of traditional rooms and resort-style amenities:
- Covered porches and balconies
- A home theater and wine room
- A wood-paneled library
- A pool and spa
- A pavilion and vegetable garden
These are reported features; the coverage does not provide a room-by-room construction specification, condition assessment, or independent measurement of the house.

What is existing—and what is only a possibility
The 2026 listing coverage distinguishes the property’s described amenities from additions or uses that could be pursued. A proposed tennis court and a proposed 1,500-square-foot guest house are not established as completed structures. The coverage also reports architectural plans for two more bedrooms, a formal dining room, sunroom, and screened porch, along with septic approval for up to ten bedrooms. Approval or plans should not be read as proof that any of those spaces have been built.
The property includes agricultural-reserve land that reporting says could accommodate a private vineyard, equestrian stable, or organic garden. Those are possible uses, not existing amenities. For a construction-minded buyer, the distinction matters: published plans and approvals describe potential, while actual buildability and project scope depend on the applicable approvals and site conditions.

Why the home was called a $29 million property
Realtor.com’s listing timeline says Alec Baldwin bought the property for $1.75 million, and that the couple first put it on the market in September 2022 for $29 million. The ask fell to $24.9 million in January 2023. After the listing was removed and later relisted, the reported asking price eventually reached $18.99 million in January 2024.
The purchase year is reported differently: Realtor.com’s 2026 timeline dates the purchase to March 1996, while its 2025 feature recounts Alec’s on-camera recollection that he bought the home in 1995. The shared account is that the purchase took place in the mid-1990s.

In 2026 reporting, Jenny Lenz, managing director of Dolly Lenz Real Estate, said the location was “not considered prime for most buyers” and called the house “quite dated for the current market.” Those are her opinions, not an appraisal or a demonstrated explanation for every listing change.
Is Alec Baldwin’s Hamptons house still for sale?
The latest retrieved Realtor.com coverage reported that the property returned to the market after a July 2026 removal, at an asking price of $18.99 million. That is a dated listing report, not a guarantee of current availability; listing status and price can change. The $29 million figure remains the reported initial ask from September 2022, not the later ask and not evidence of a completed sale.
