Roomeon is a 3D room-planning program for drawing or tracing a room, arranging furniture and materials, and viewing the result from different angles. Its official pages describe a practical design workflow, but the download page lists only legacy operating systems, so check compatibility and download safety before relying on it.
What Roomeon does
Roomeon describes itself as a 3D room planner for designing spaces with drag-and-drop furniture and materials. Its company page names interior designers, architects, and anyone planning a room as its intended users. The feature documentation covers floorplan drawing, room templates, object placement, lighting, multiple viewpoints, screenshots, and sharing designs online.
The catalog is described as containing real products and specifications. That makes furniture a natural part of planning, but the official pages do not establish which products, sellers, or online features are available today.
How do I use Roomeon to plan a room?
- Start from a template or draw a floor plan. The feature page says you can choose a room template, draw the outline, or load an existing plan image as a background and trace it.
- Set the room dimensions. Adjust wall dimensions in the plan and use grid alignment or manual measurements. Roomeon lists grid options of 25 cm, 50 cm, and 1 m; the feature page does not state a publication date for those options.
- Check wall measurements carefully. Roomeon’s FAQ says the wall options measure length from center to center, while the floorplan view shows the interior dimension. If a measurement must match a construction drawing or site condition, confirm which measurement is being displayed before using it.
- Switch to 3D and furnish the room. Drag catalog items into the space, then move, rotate, or scale objects to explore the layout. The feature page describes free-angle, person-level, and bird’s-eye views.
- Adjust lighting and surfaces. The feature page describes lighting controls and says rendering becomes less glossy while you move, then returns to higher quality when you stop. This is the vendor’s description, not an independently tested performance assessment.
- Review and share the design. Inspect the room from more than one viewpoint. Roomeon says the program can save screenshots from the 3D view and floorplan and publish designs to its community.
If the first 3D view shows an unexpected wall
Roomeon’s FAQ says a 3D room is formed from a closed chain of walls. If the outline is unfinished, the software automatically closes the chain when you switch to 3D mode. Check the floorplan for an open or misplaced wall if the resulting room shape looks wrong.

Can I design a floor plan and see it in 3D?
Yes, that is the workflow Roomeon describes: create or trace the floorplan, then switch to a 3D view to arrange objects and inspect the space. Use the floorplan for dimensions and the 3D views to assess layout and appearance; the official documentation does not establish that the planner replaces construction drawings or on-site measurement.
Before choosing living room furniture or other pieces for a plan, compare each item’s real dimensions with the available room dimensions. Roomeon says its catalog includes product specifications, but current catalog listings and suppliers are not verified by its pages.
Is Roomeon free?
Roomeon’s homepage says personal use is free and that visitors can try the program without signing up. Its FAQ clarifies the distinction: you can log in as a guest, but saving projects requires a free account. The FAQ lists 10 plan slots for registered users; it does not state when that limit was last updated.
How do I save my Roomeon project?
According to Roomeon’s feature page, online project storage is available through an account from computers with the planner installed. The FAQ also describes a local autosave to the computer every 60 seconds, but says it applies only to the last project worked on. Treat that as a limited recovery feature, not a full backup of every plan.
Can I use Roomeon on my computer?
The official download page identifies the program as “3D-Planner 1.6.2” and lists Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8, as well as Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8 beta. The page does not give a release date or a current compatibility statement, so these listings are not evidence that Roomeon works on present-day Windows or macOS.
The same download page lists legacy hardware recommendations: a Core 2 Duo or AMD Turion 64 X2 processor, 2 GB of memory, and GeForce 8- or ATI HD2000-class graphics. Roomeon’s help page warns that computers without 3D support or with older graphics drivers may show only a rudimentary view. Those specifications should be read as historical requirements, not as current buying advice.
Rank #4
The official 1.6 release article is about twelve years old according to the search index, and the official pages reviewed do not establish whether Roomeon is actively maintained, whether its online services still function fully, or whether the listed installer works on current systems. Verify compatibility and that the installer is safe to obtain before depending on the program.
