University of Missouri sophomore Max Gravette spent the summer in a hands-on apprenticeship with Second Stories, a family-owned remodeling company in Webster Groves, Missouri. A syndicated excerpt of the Webster-Kirkwood Times story says the experience gave him a chance to learn real-world construction skills.
What is known about the apprenticeship
The available account describes Gravette as a Mizzou sophomore who joined Second Stories for a summer apprenticeship. It presents the placement as practical construction experience at a local remodeling company, rather than detailing a particular project or a formal training curriculum. Construction Newswire / EIN Newsdesk’s October 5, 2026, excerpt attributes the story to Webster-Kirkwood Times and identifies Second Stories as family-owned.
What the report does not specify
The accessible excerpts do not name the work Gravette performed, identify a mentor, or state the apprenticeship’s schedule, compensation, or longer-term outcome. They also do not give his major or include a direct quotation from him or the company. The original newspaper story is not available in the excerpted material, so those specifics cannot be confirmed here.
Why the experience stands out
The reported takeaway is straightforward: a college student had an opportunity to encounter construction work directly through a summer placement with a remodeling firm. Beyond that broad description, the account does not establish how the apprenticeship was structured or what particular skills Gravette developed. A syndicated excerpt attributed to Webster-Kirkwood Times characterizes the learning as real-world construction skills.
