Shree Cement is planning a proposed ₹6,700-crore investment to expand in Andhra Pradesh, Industries, Commerce and Food Processing Minister T.G. Bharat said, according to Deccan Chronicle. The report describes a proposal—not an investment already committed, approved or spent—and says the minister estimated it could create employment and livelihood opportunities for around 3,000 people.
What is proposed
Bharat said Shree Cement plans to invest ₹6,700 crore in Andhra Pradesh as part of an expansion in the state. The figure is attributed to the minister in Deccan Chronicle’s report published on 6 October 2026. The report does not establish that the investment has received formal approval or that funds have been committed or spent.
Where the company is considering expansion
Company representatives met Bharat in Visakhapatnam to discuss expansion, with Shree Cement vice-chairman Prashant Babu among those reported at the meeting. The districts named as areas of interest were Kadapa, Palnadu and Anakapalli, according to Deccan Chronicle.
The report does not assign a particular facility, project, or portion of the proposed investment to any of the three districts. It also gives no project capacity or construction schedule.

What the reported employment figure means
Bharat estimated that the proposed projects could generate employment and livelihood opportunities for around 3,000 people. The report does not define those opportunities or separate direct company jobs from indirect work, so the figure should not be read as 3,000 confirmed direct jobs.
What remains unconfirmed
The available reporting does not specify the proposal’s formal status, facilities, district-level investment allocations, capacity, approvals or timeline. It also does not provide an independently published Shree Cement statement or a government project document confirming the proposal. Bharat’s comments about state support for industrial investment and employment describe the government’s stated approach; they do not establish that this particular proposal has cleared approvals.
