Its appearance can shift with panel orientation, viewing angle, light and moisture, so a gallery image is best read as an example of a material in a particular setting—not as a guaranteed color match or a complete facade specification.
What does an EQUITONE [tectiva] panel look like?
The panel has a visibly textured, sanded finish rather than a uniform applied coating. Etex/EQUITONE describes it as a through-coloured facade material with naturally occurring hues and says each panel is unique. That variation is part of the material’s character: adjacent panels may not read as identical, and a photograph can make the effect more or less pronounced.
The 2023 EQUITONE brochure shows a nine-color palette. Treat it as a visual reference, not confirmation that every listed color is currently stocked or offered in every country. Check the local EQUITONE [tectiva] product page and request a sample when color selection matters.
Why can the same panel look different in photographs?
EQUITONE notes that orientation, viewing angle, illumination and moisture can emphasize or soften natural color differences. A panel seen in direct sun may read differently from one in shade; a close, oblique view may reveal surface texture that is less visible from across a street. Wet conditions can also change the apparent tone.

When comparing gallery images, look for the color code and note the lighting, viewpoint, panel direction and joint layout if that information is available. Without those details, an image is useful for understanding texture and broad visual effect, but not for making a precise color comparison.
How does Tectiva appear on a facade?
On a building, the visible panels form the exterior cladding layer. They are fixed to a separate supporting structure, with joints and fixings contributing to the overall elevation. The environmental product declaration describes ventilated exterior cladding and lightweight facade systems, with panels attached to a wood or metal backing structure. The panel alone is not a complete facade assembly.

A gallery is most useful when it identifies the panel color, orientation, panel dimensions, joint rhythm and project context. Those details help distinguish the material’s own appearance from the effect of the surrounding facade design. Do not infer an architect, building location or completion date from a product image unless the project information is independently identified.
What dimensions and weight are listed?
Published figures differ by market, so do not combine metric and US specifications as if they described one universal offering. The EQUITONE product information gives the following examples:

The EPD identifies [tectiva] as an autoclaved calcium silicate fibre-cement sheet made mainly from sand, cement, cellulose, wollastonite, clay and lime. It describes use in ventilated exterior cladding, ceilings and insulated lightweight facade systems. The material’s visual finish should be considered alongside the full wall design, including the backing structure, cavity, joints and fixings.

Does the panel determine how the facade is installed?
No. The appropriate support framing and fastening depend on the project and applicable local requirements. The EPD’s declared installation scenario refers to screws for wooden substructures and rivets for metal substructures, but that information is not enough to select a fixing for a specific substrate, wind load, building height or code condition.
Use the current country-specific installation guide and have the project team verify the complete assembly. Etex’s EQUITONE technical library lists installation guides, technical drawings, maintenance instructions, accessory information and declarations of performance. The relevant documents may vary by country and should be checked for the actual project.

The US EQUITONE product page states a 20-year warranty and describes 50+ years of longevity. These are manufacturer statements on the US page; warranty terms and coverage should be confirmed for the applicable market and project.
A separate Belgian-market EPD issued on 2021-10-07 estimated a 60-year reference service life under normal conditions. It also noted that extensive product-specific service-life evidence was not then available. That estimate is environmental-assessment context, not a warranty or a verified finding that every installation will last 60 years. The declaration’s stated validity runs through 2026-10-07; check for a current registered EPD before relying on it as current documentation.
